I'm pretty surprised that there hasn't been a general outcry about the more than week-long SS problems. The most egregious being that recent accepted images don't show up in a search (thereby consigning that batch to oblivian), along with todays inability to show recent downloads, etc., etc...

As typical, the SS forum is falling right in line and complaining ever so mildly.

BUT this has been going on for more than a week, and there have been so many problems. Those of us on SS know what I'm talking about.

So, why haven't we had a discussion about this here, where we can really vent?

I, for one, am not going to upload again until they have it straightened out. Suggest we all do the same--my last batch has no sales, and I haven't uploaded since. I usually get a rash of sale as soon as a batch is accepted. Nothing from the last batch has sold--only the random sale here and there from previous batches.

I was concerned enough to write to support about it.  I got a mild "hang in there" kind of reply.  Given that I've had no downloads in days, despite adding around 20 images in the last week (all of which show up on the search, BTW), I'm concerned about major server errors.  I have a feeling I'm losing sales, but I can't prove it because my sales have been pretty poor for months as I have focused on other aspects of my business.

Frankly, it bothers me that SS has never corrected a long-standing bug with the logout message (it comes up in random languages and has been doing this for around a year).  It may be a small matter, but it makes me wonder about the security of the core code  . . .

I've been having problems accessing the page today and on other days it's quite slow.

Now I understand why my sales aren't up to par.  I guess we have to "hang in there".

SS accepted my entire last batch on the 23rd... and they sold this weekend and even today. I haven't had any problems there like you folks are mentioning. I'm getting same day, next day approval, better than 80% approval and usually that day or the next  I'm experiencing sales of the new uploads.
SS is my highest performer with roughly 85% of my sales (on 9 sites ).  But I'll keep a watch now to see if it starts to occur in my account. Thanks for the alert.  Hope you get it straightened out.

modify after kosmik's post:  I just jumped over there and got right on. No problem for me here in New Jersey. And my sales seem to be in the ballpark.  Nothing unusual...  However, I'm going to keep an eye on it, thanks again.

can't say i had really noticed a problem.. i managed to get my stats this morning and logging in - although slow as always - managed to work.

I didn't keep track of how much my last batch was download, but perhaps because i didn't think they were too big of sellers  :o ???

on a side note, i got 4 extended licenses today :) :) :)  - now i am curious as to what they were used for.

FOUR   EL's...   nice job, Leaf!!!  I've yet to have even one anywhere...  maybe someday....
That's the one thing I really loved about FT, you got to see who purchased the shot and sometimes you could trace it down. I think they should all make that data available to the photog.

That bug was discussed on a thread at the SS forum, and I think the conclusion became something like "it's kind of cute having it like this, so don't change it". Buyers don't see it anyway.

Despite the goings on at SS I've had my best month there ever. I've been cautious about uploading though and have only added a couple of images a week over past few weeks. Hopefully they will get things together soon and if they do it right, things should be better than ever there. Here's fingers crossed.

PS: be careful what you post on the forums there, I think they are a tad cranky and are locking threads for the lamest reasons  ::)

I've noticed the problems but it doesn't seem to be effecting sales much...but then who knows maybe I would be having even more sales.... :)

The one thing I don't like is that SS just keeps everybody in the dark about problems...if there is a problem...i wish they would just tell us...that way the record is straight and all the speculation about what the problem is doesn't start floating around. Every site has problems from time to time.

It seems that thier attitude is " they are the big fish and all the little fish don't need to know"

oh well... as long as sales remain good and I am able to upload without problems...I'm not going to complain too much... but I still feel they should let us know whats going on....It's us that are making them all thier money.

apparently they are adding more servers (they already have 100).

I would prefer if they closed down the submitter site with a message, we are experiencing heavy demand so we have closed this site so buyers experience is not affected.

My sales are down and last week was my worst for a while, despite lots of new uploads.  My sales are going up on the other sites.  I am sure I have lost sales, as sometimes I have sold a record number in the morning but hardly any in the afternoon.  It used to be fairly even throughout the day.

Can't complain too much, as they are still making more for me than any other sites.
