I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing a drop in sales everyday for the last week? Are there mass uploads to ShutterStock? I am not understanding the sudden drop off in sales, I'm a full time stock photographer so the kind of drop I am seeing matters quite a bit.

Sales at Shutterstock are quite erratic from day to day.

How many files do you have?

How big % is your drop?

The sales change started for some of us, Or at least the ones that noticed in Mid March 2012. I am currently at 45% of what I was used to for 7.5 years. Then other sites started going south also DT,FT. some came back a bit. None have come back to the way it was. And...It was not Gradual. It was Overnight. Huge difference in why. I "WISH" It was only a week.

Was there a known change? I am in the tank.

I have about 2000 images and have seen a $30 decline per day.

Actually No. Sales are over the top, best ever for years, especially for the last week.

But people don't want to see this.

get used to it. thats the new Normal. you may get a bump every Now and then. But. Nothing we can Bank On anymore. yesterday I had a great day. today. sucks.. A 100 DL's a day, some EL's and SODs 4 years ago was a good day. Today 50 is a big deal.Haven t had an EL for weeks and SODS? forget it.

Not so good sales here, but they are compensated by a lot of more in Fotolia

'But people don't want to see this'.

Personally, I'd love to see this!!! Reality is about 30% down on last year,  despite 1000 or so more photos.

More or less normal (i.e., with large swings from day to day) over the last week except for the weekend which was dreadful - I had 0 DLs on Saturday which is very unusual even for a weekend.  So far this month DL numbers are good but the proportion of ODs, etc., is very low - one in every 15 DLs so far this month as opposed to one every 7 DLs last month.  No ELs, SODs or video sales so far this month either, whereas last month was great.  Hopefully that will change soon...

I admit that times have been tough for many people and their sales have dropped. While some others, earnings have gone up. I'm just pointing out there are two side to this coin.  :)

When I look at the poll on the right, I don't see SS dropping? And when people say they can't get photos accepted, I see 365,000 new a week. Someone is adding new images and someone is making money?

I won't be quitting any of my day jobs and I work more than two, to make ends meet and pay the bills.  8)

Adobe Effect?
(on the lack of sales on SS too)

Is the Adobe's name so strong to attract so much new customers?

Last week was good for me with a slight slow down on Fri and Sat but it has picked back up since. I don't know what others are seeing but I am up from this time last year on SS, FT, and DT. iStock, well do we even need to talk about that?

In my case SS hit the BME in first week of March. For me I see nice increase lately, SoDs and ODs are coming in bunches. Propably it will change in two weeks after search re-organisation? ;)
