I've had two single image vector sales in the past week with a commission of $0.95.
Anyone know how that happens? Every other single image download gets me $5.70.
-
I saw the same thing yesterday. No idea what that's about, though.
-
I had one of those on the 20th. I was wondering about that too.
-
Just had two more singles for $3.00 each. ???
-
There does seem to some changes in Single Image Option. Just had 2 sales for $2.50 each. Maybe someone of us should contact support?
-
I did not write to support but did ask the question on the SS Forum. The response was confusing. I think Dave misunderstood the question.
Mike Price posted to ask the same question. He had a royalty of 89 cents.
-
I had one for .80 cents and there is a thread somewhere where Anthony explains why this happens.
Thing is though that a small OD gets more then a SOD?
I will look for the thread as the day goes along.

Here is what I found and in one thread someone was told that the customer had a discount.

And they now have it in the earnings section.

I had Single & Other sales on SS ranging between $1.26 ( lowest) to $16.75(highest)... i mean 1.26 , 2.30 , 2.80, 3.5, 5.75, 16.30 , 16.75 and other strange commissions that i don't remember now....
different buyer different offers. ???
-
I still don't get it. What kind of discount takes a Single Image sale price from $19 down to $3? That's over 80% off the original price.
SS is not the kind of company that needs to be offering 80% off for any reason.
-
Had another vector sale yesterday for $.95 commission.
I wish I knew where I could get this deal. I'd buy some artwork for $3 each.
-
It's death by a thousand cuts.
Hey maybe they have a great new program where a buyer can pay a big upfront 'fee' for a package disciount which then reduces the "price" of every download. And of course we only get a commission on the "price", not the "fee".

I thought Shutterstock was the shining example of transparency and pricing simplicity, surely this information is easy to find?
I've tried. Maybe you could find it for us?

There it is, but mind you pricing in the US and Europe are different using local currency plus there are 4 different tiers in royalty. Meaning, there are at least 8 different pay outs possible.

I may be a little dense but, I do not see either of those links (Answers) explaining the decline in price of Single or Other Downloads.
Somehow, I expect they should be more than a simple ODD.
@Ponke ... I think we should be given a better idea of the Sale Price. Just what is it that we are getting a percentage of?

If you click on an image you get the pricing. Its different in the US and the EU and probably Asia as well.
But SS has also said SOD are often negotiated prices up to 400 dollar. Hence the 120 dollar payout.

Is pricing different in different countries or are you making that up?
Why?? No I am not making it up. I see euro pricing for images on shutterstock and others in the US see dollar prices. And I believe in Asia they might have local currency as well in some countries.

Oh I thought they kept the pricing consistent with a slight difference for currency conversion charges. I can't find where to view the different prices for each country.
You cant, its based on IP address most likely. I only see EU pricing, someone in the US sees dollars

Maybe those low sales are actually ELs? http://www.shutterstock.com/buzz/individual-image-licenses-update (http://www.shutterstock.com/buzz/individual-image-licenses-update)
Here is an explanation of two of those extended license options, one with and one without a sensitive use option.
· A license without a sensitive use option.
For individual images downloaded under these licenses, the contributor will typically receive a royalty of $2 to $15 or more, based on the cost of the license and the contributor’s earnings tier (20 to 30%).
Assuming that the commission for a single image download is still 30%, a image would have to be sold at just over $3 to bring in a $.95 rate. A normal license single download is priced at $19.
There must be some sort of special offer that was offered by Shutterstock somewhere, it would just be nice to know the details.
I had another $.95 single sale yesterday.

Mine are gradually decreasing, as well. $2.50 seems to be the new norm. :(
