You're more likely to get an answer (and a polite one) if you send a letter to HM the Queen

I work for SS? Oh you mean an employee?

Sorry but on their own site, they don't answer, and if you get an answer it's from some external "expert" who is just like one of us, but gets paid for giving stock answers, as they have no better information than anyone here.

SS doesn't monitor this forum.

Inadvertent but so true.   :)  I still say that there are more people here, who know more and give better answers than the "Experts". Writing to SS support gets some pretty strange results, if you get anything at all.

Does anyone else know that case numbers expire? That's what I was told when I uploaded to a case and it was rejected. There's something new, for anyone who cares. You might be rejected for something that we were never notified existed?  :(  If it's true. The reply sounded like someone who just wanted to brush off the question and didn't have an answer.

I have a case number for some specific submissions. I was told when it was issued that it would be good for two years, so I guess they aren't open-ended.

Thanks for that, I never had a notice of how long case numbers are valid. Might be a new thing and I have been doing this since 2008 or so, but no new case numbers since Covid hit in 2020. So I'd be behind the times on any current regulations.

Good to know. Which I suppose means, all my case numbers have expired?

I guess you'll get a rejection if they've expired? I was told to email in again when i needed a new case number.
