Wow. I remember just ine time I have seen more (150.000).
Why is the market getting suddently so flooded? More professionalism of suppliers? Less alternatives on the Job/Freelance market? What do you think?
-
Of course this assumes we even believe that the number is accurate and means what we think it means.
Since SS is now a publicly traded company, any publicly released numbers that related to volume or future profitability should be taken with the proverbial grain of salt.

It's actually around 160,000 since the 11th, 6 days ago.
Speechless. Huge jump up.
-
It's growth in the collection of about 0.64% if my sums are correct. Not really too scary compared with the overall size of the competition.

Overall size of the competition in terms of newly added images or overall online material?
Maybe you are right saying it is not too impressive....but I know that I cannot raise my output in terms of quantity anymore, which means if the newly added image numbers keeps on rising I will lose in the database.

I'd hazard a guess that they just accepted a large collection of 50-60K images from a new contributor.
Hopefully it's not Yuri giving up his exclusivity with IS so soon. Mind you he did say that 'Professionals deal with professionals' and, let's face it, SS are way more professional than IS.

Good guess. And a good one about Yuri hehe, that would be really ridiculous.... :D

I just got caught up on the thread where he said that. *insult removed*. So I guess he wasn't "professional" up until this year, dealing with all of those other amateur companies for so long?

SHUTTERSTOCK STATS:

Seems highly likely to me that the huge numbers they are ingesting are from disaffected former Istock exclusives.
Most likely this is the flood of competing images a lot of us worried about when Istock first started to jump the shark...
