Oh darn I did days not weeks when I did my first calculation.
July 14th, 2012 8AM (yeah that's the ticket 7-14...)
No wait, I was basing that on the "weekly total, which is actually a seven day total, for the last seven days, not a weekly total. If that makes no sense. They add 74,000 in a week, but the next day it might say, 75,000 added this week, and the next day, 80,000 added this week. It's daily - not weekly!

Revised estimate is now August 1st, 2012. (so basically I'm taking the under and Luis has the over? 8) )

And we wonder why sales are down. You have it. Images are being uploaded into a black hole of sorts. (don't anyone jump, SS is my favorite agency!)

17,863,136 currently 92,198 added this week means in approx 1.5 weeks it will hit 18,000,000 images leaving 2,000,000 more to go-
So that is an average taking all things into consideration of approx 90,000 per week give or take here or there.
So that would be approx twenty three weeks from now give or take.
So i would care to guess around July 4th 2012 @ 9:00pm EST.

I'd say there must have been a sudden gajillion percent increase in activity at SS, judging by RacePhoto's needle now pointing to the max. If that math is correct, I'd say we'd hit the number in 1982. ;)

There is no SS meter, only FT and IS. Unless I make one again? ;D I have more fun with my "somewhat normal" avatars.

It's not the fact that it's a double cheeseburger isolated on black on a small plate, (or that I was surprised it was accepted...) but that, the file number is 97768964
Roughing out the numbers, 19% of the 97 million images, have been submitted / processed and accepted? 19%? Or for the flip side, 80% of the images submitted have been rejected or removed.

There is no 100,000,000 but this on would be the closest? Also interesting is that these "grunge stamps" are as common as oak leaves in the forest. (22,917 of them)

The next image is 100,000,004
In which case, if this is true and always has been true, numbers used would be 33,333,333 and figuring at 19,100,879 royalty-free stock photos (rough numbers) the acceptance rate, all time is 57.8% on SS.
I haven't gone back to see if the numbering changed, just going by what appears to be the rule now.

OK so I was closer before and now that I edited for my mistaken calculations and data, I'm even more wrong? LOL
Well whatever. It's interesting and if you are right, we are looking at 7000 photos a day (where I went wrong before looking at "per week") so around 10 or 11 days.
What happens, does a party popper go off, some balloons go up, SS goes public... or what?

Yes, it translates in "I really meant what I said" :)
It's simple - less dilution, more quality, possibly better rewarding $0.38 'togs and all the other good things derived from these.

yep I wondered that would be your answer, quite divided about your wish myself
1 - suitable for contributors that arenīt going to upload much in a near future (keeping income a lot stable)
2 - a big mess like it was when DT pulled out a similar model (very bad for top contributors with heavy production)
3 - new and average contributors would be punished (unless they change their own game)
what I think it should be done? perhaps a big cleaning ;D

Totally agree. The day that a microstock photographer really has to differentiate themselves from those 20,000,000 images was five years ago, let alone today.
