We have removed the photos below for the following reason:
We can no longer take images of English currency or the Pound symbol.
I had four photos deleted three of which just used a very small part of a scanned bank note the £10 bit in fact. I made a vector replacement as some were selling reasonably well but if the £ symbol is now off limits.
I notice my pics are still coming up in the search as others of much more blatant copyright issues virtually the whole backnote
I hope the dollar and euro are not next.
3pod did they delete your zulu pound 3D rendering? that really would be taking it a step too far.
After having being very lucky at SS with accepatances two bad batches
9/49 rasterized eps files (Christmas/new year themes so maybe they are just sick of thme this late in the season)
8/38 London

Currency is always a dodgy area. It is "illegal" to reproduce currency in any way in most countries. This is not a copywrite thing but a government statute.
The degree of reproducing is how they use to deal with it (ie. no full frontal) but obviously they have gotten stricter.
I would send a site mail asking for consistancy.

I had also 2 images removed, showing 3D pound symbols (no bank note photo). Setho said (on the forum) it was a misunderstanding, and we have to re-submit the deleted images with a note to the reviewer saying they were deleted by mistake.

Here is the final word:
We can accept illustrations and vectors of the British pound symbol and other currency symbols, but we cannot accept any photos or scans of English currency, both paper and coin.
If you had an image deleted that was not a British pound note or coin, you may reupload it with a note to the reviewer.
Again, sorry for the confusion, but this is the rule.

The law in England is very clear on this subject. People shouldn't worry about US currency. You can sell photos of US currency as long as it can't be used for forgery.

Good to hear the vector images will be OK I hope they get accepted though shock horror StockXpert which hate my illustrations with the fire of a 1,000 suns accepted them. ;D
Now on Bank of England notes there is a (C) symbol there was actually a case of an artist who would make drawings of currency and use that as payment in restaurants etc. The treasury were not amused.
Actually my SS rasterized vector rejections were a lesson not to put too much detail into illustrations if you are going to make medium sized jpg as my snowflakes came out a bit blurred :'(
One image that was rejected as a simple vector was an accepted as a JPG

This was actually done in the US too. The treasury department charged him with forgery, but the courts threw it out because the currency wasn't being pasted off as genuine US currency and so was protected by the first amendment (free speech).
