Has something changed? So far I have always used the iStock model release form for all agencies including SS. I had an image rejected yesterday saying that the image needs a model release form. I thought I had forgotten to attach it to the image and uploaded it again. Again the image was rejected for the same reason. I can't just make a model release for each and every agency. I used the iStock form and simply removed the name iStock...

Something has changed or there are some new nasty reviewers who like to make life for us harder.... I have similar problem with footage. I even contacted shutterstock support - they checked my releases and wrote back that they are fine and asked me to upload again. I did it and it got rejected (property release issues) again. So I wrote back again to support, and they apologized me and asked to upload again, they wrote that this time they'd take care about it and gave my uploads priority... right - my footage with release got rejected even faster, and I wrote back again and still nothing. I was using shutterstock release file that worked before but maybe you shouldn't send them istock release and just try to use their template for model release.

I have forgotten to mention that they accepted the same model release for the same image about 2 weeks ago. 2 weeks ago I uploaded that image in colour. This time I changed it into black and white. If they don't like the image in black and white why don't they just say?

I'm worried that this might be an automated process or they just stopped taking time to properly review the content. Like my uploads were rejected because property release issue after few minutes after upload. I wonder if anybody even tried and opened release...

It is unbelievable what they did to you. I didn't use the iStock model release form with iStock written on it. I removed iStock's name etc to make it look generic. I can't use a model release form for every agency. iStock only accepts their own and that's why I used their model release form. So far all agencies including SS accepted that. Even SS accepted the same release form for the same photo in colour two weeks ago. Uploading, keyboarding, description..... is already such a time consuming nightmare.

I am having issues with model-release rejections as well. I always use generic release template and so far it never caused any problems (used it for more than 50 different models, everything was okay). Now all of a sudden there is an issue, I keep getting rejected for one release in particular, over and over again - and yet this very same release was used for 240 images already approved without any problems!

Just plainly irritating.

I wrote to customer service and they replied that the model release form itself is fine but maybe it's because there is some scribble....Then I filled out a new form. Image rejected again for model release. Wrote to customer service again. They again wrote that model release form is fine. They didn't even know what to write. They wrote maybe photo on release is not clear. I now printed SS releases for future images.

I'm getting them too.  On one, the model started to sign and then crossed it out to print his name.  On another, the witness print and sign were flipped.  Everything is still there and legible and valid.  What a pain.

I wrote out a new model release and nothing was scribbled on that one....but still rejected. Customer service wrote that maybe the photo on the model release.... They obviously also find nothing wrong but try to come up with something. They can hardly write that their reviewer has lost his mind. :) But I am really stressed by this.

Same problem. Old releases, new releases. Same outcome.

Used SS own downloaded 2 weeks back so latest edition.
Crossing out/correction - rejected.
Said 2-3 June for shoot (it was over 2 days) - said could only have one date. Rejected.
European ticked in place of Causasian. Rejected.

Old version MR of my hubby who appears from time to time in pics - accepted lots of times - now also rejected.

I haven't been able to get an MR accepted in weeks.

:(

Sorry your having issues. I know they changed the policy that the photographer's name on the release must match the name on account for payout purposes not to long ago. Other than that, nothing I know about.  I use the easy release app from my phone and have had no issues. My last uploads to AS, iS(via Deepmeta), and SS had no trouble with releases for models or property.
