I am frustrated with uploading to SS because nearly half the files I send over via Filezilla are failing to go through for no reason. They are all JPEGS but not all go through. It's a real pain.

I used to have a problem with filezilla uploading videos to Shutterstock, and after I changed the number of transfers    under Edit:Settings: Transfers and change under Concurrent transfers - Max simultaneous transfers to 1, my problems went away.  I think I read somewhere that Shutterstock doesn't allow multiple sessions thru FTP.

No, it didn't work. Why do they take so long to upload to then only show as a blank space on SS ? It's so frustrating.

I had the same problem. It is normally associated with slow connection speed. Go to your account settings and deselect "Automatic FTP processing" (tickbox right at the bottom of the page - change to "No"). The server tends to start processing your upload before it is finished and therefore this high number of corrupted uploads. This change will prevent that from happening.
It solved my problem 100%.  ;)

I have done that and now non of my files are coming through. I have turned it back on again.

I had the same problem, so I switched to Core FTP Lite, available free from www.coreftp.com.  Problem solved.

They are not "automatically" coming through. Now you have to go to your homepage (http://submit.shutterstock.com/home.mhtml) when you have finished uploading. At the top you will find a message. stating that you have FTP files queued. Open the message (click on the triangle next to the message). At the bottom of this message is a link you need to click to process the queue. Give it about 30 min thereafter (dependent on the volume of images in the queue) and you are ready to process as normal.
