I understand that a lot of us see a massive increase of $0.38 SODs, today.
These used to be FB sales, but I've never seen so many in a day.
What happens?

I was wondering the same. I wonder if it's similar to PP sales in Istock where they tally all of the FB sales in 1-2 days. Almost 80 downloads so far...

for this month until yesterday I had 4 total
yesteday I got 8 all 0.36 and 7 of them are same image
today I got 3 already

I got loads of 38c SODs today. 17 of them on one image that isn't a particular big seller normally.

Dozens here over the past two days. Since they never did this before it might be the result of FB under reporting and SS just discovered it. Remember when we all got a ton of ELs in one day and it turned out it was one huge client who should had bought ELs and they got caught? SS is good at collecting for misuse.
Maybe whoever replace Scott can come and let us know if this is new policy or one time thing?
Whatever it is, I ain't complaining!

That would means that those renewed ads have been already sold month or year ago. But it's not the case because most of my single and other downloads from last 2 days have never been sold before.

I am thinking this may be a new deal they brokered, similar to Facebook. I rarely got these Facebook sales. Never 7 in a day.

But "S"nover has had 8 today after a long patch where there were very few of the 38 cent SODs (not one in May) - I I think "S"helma's real last name doesn't begin with S either :)

I got a whole lot today as well. However, most are for one image related to "Canada". Given that it's Canada Day on July 1st, I just the extra downloads were for an increase in demand to "Canada" images at this time of year.

How big was your port again.
Someone with a port of 480 images had 80 SODs. I have 2900 images I had 7.
It doesnt seem to be linear.

It would be good to know the origin of these sales.
We're all very optimistic, but have no idea who bought them, for what purpose, and under what conditions.

I got 80 ea. 38 cent ones today, including 34 of one image. It's odd. I've seen them come in bunches before, but nothing like this.

Most likely, delayed reporting. I think, they call it "rear curtain".

I got 197 of 38 cent single dl today. It is the same as my average download in a day without "single and other download" i almost make 400 sales today. So excited about the amount of images downloaded today but not really excited for the money ;D

Looks like you have food port. I've noticed that none of my 72 sods yesterday were food photos, and I have many of them.

to many of us saw that sudden increase (continuing today also) and in last 3 day i sold more SODs then in last 3-4 months.
it's good thing but something changed/happened.

WOW 280 SODs on a single day... reminds me of the good old goden days of microstock. Just make it happen every day SS and I will be impressed :)
This sudden increase is very rare and not happening every week or month. I can't see any pattern here so I think this is somekind of a correction.

51 yesterday and double figures first thing today. Not bad..... it would be amazing if they weren't sub price and a little higher but, not going to complain at the volume they are pouring in at!

Just interested to know what kind of images mostly selling under this category? I have a port of 4500 images and didn't get any such downloads. My images are mostly travel photos.

Yes, sudden jump in SOD 0.38 sales here too. Overall, the best sales day ever on SS for me yesterday. Something definitely changed there. Already on pace for the best month ever on SS this month!

I'm having the best month in sales, but far from BME in $ - no EL, few OD / big SOD's.

I just got one of those sub-level SODs yesterday - also travel - but lots of other subs yesterday (relatively speaking, I have a small port). Volume across the board is nearly back to normal for me, but no Els so $ is down, though better than it's been lately.
It sure would be nice to see a string of ELs 8)

Mine started yesterday. Nothing like the numbers that are being reported here, but a definite change. From the very very rare SOD to 5 yesterday (4 of the same image) and 6 today (5 of the same image that got 4 yesterday).
Sure wish ss would chime in on this one.
I am suspicious this will not last.

I got a few of the 'sub rate SOD' yesterday and today. I think it is the Facebook SODs which probably may not be realtime. I checked back and I could see a similar set of 3 days (from 18-Nov-2014 through 20-Nov-2014) where there were a few 'sub rate SOD's.

I had 211 SODs and overall the biggest DL and $$$ day I think, yesterday. Kind of makes up for the last two weeks dropping by almost %40.

Mine are still there. Just haven't been any more since Friday. Did anyone seriously think that was gonna last forever? Pretty sure they were catching up on a reporting backlog.

Based on a post in the SS thread, I looked at last June. On 2 different days about the same time, I had a large number of .38 SODs just like this year. Still don't know what that means.

Not the case for me. However, pleased they appeared this year otherwise the last few days would have been TERRIBLE!!!

Just to confirm what most of you already concluded: these downloads are from our partnership with Facebook and they are an accumulation of a period of several weeks.
There was a reporting lag, and we have been working with Facebook to make sure all ads created with Shutterstock images in the last few weeks are accounted for before the end of the month.
Each individual payout represents a different ad from a different Facebook advertiser. We expect less delays in the future.

just to let people know, even I am opted out of sensitive usage, today I sold one of my photos as single and others downloads for about 84 dollars. Nice surprise Shutterstock

Good grief 197 ! I get 6 or 7 and I think I have had a good day. However I have had all sales of 0.36 today but no increase in actual sales. Just 5 :-\

I had one on the 17. Can't remember that I have seen that amount before.
