Title: vector submission

Hello,
I'd like to ask those, who are submitting vector images to shutterstock.com: Does many of You submit vector illustrations not only as vector eps files, but also are submitting the same illustrations as separate jpeg images? I personally used to submit vector only in eps format, but recently i've noticed that many contrubutors started to sumbit raster versions of vector file. Is it worth to do that?

As for me - vectors make about 90% of sales, jpg versions 10%. I upload jpgs because I have to create hi-res preview for other sites anyway.

I do too. And I think it is worth uploading JPGs at SS. I upload the JPG versions a week after I upload the vector versions.

Ditto.  I upload the eps and preview jpgs first in one batch then upload the large rasters in another batch.  They're the only site we have to do this too (well the only one I have to do that to) that sells them as separate files.  They don't sell as much as vectors do but I did manage to get an EL on a raster there earlier this month so yeah definitely worth it.

I'm assuming that when you do this, the vector and raster files are listed separately? I have only been uploading vectors.

Yes. And you have chance that rejected "overly simple vectors" are available at least as jpgs.
And don't forget to exclude keyword "vector" from jpg version of image, otherwise your image is usually rejected.

I too have had EL's of raster versions, so well worth uploading both.

It is also advisable, if submitting the raster version after the vector, to add a note to the reviewer 'raster version of submitted, (or approved), vector image.

I didn't even consider the possibility of uploading a separate raster version! If it generates extra revenue, I'll upload them right away.

But why doesn't Shutterstock simply generates JPG versions in different sizes, based on the JPG preview, like many other agencies?
