I guess Shutterstock is on the same path as IStock ... getting a lot of $1.50 to $2.00 sales commision for my 1080 and 4K video content. Maybe is time to pull the plug on Shutterstock.Yap. Same here

Yes. Previously, these people would have to pay full price for a 720 res file. SS and other companies really only looked at this through the lens of the share holders. They could attract more customers willing to pay far less than a 720 clip and perhaps affect top line sales more favorably that the base who would typically purchase 720 rez. The loser is the supplier. The loser will usually always be the supplier.

That's right, the latest is smaller files, for streaming at these low prices. IS is doing that and P5 is also adding the same. As usual, once one place gets an idea and if it shows profit, increased earnings for them, we'll see it soon at others. While the lower resolution cheap sales are supposed to be streaming only at SS for $1.50.

The general claim is, these people wouldn't have paid for a higher resolution video, so we are getting something for a small, lowres file, instead of nothing. I don't know, I'm not sure. Just pointing out where these low commission sales are from, it's not HD.

There is still a market to sell and earn well with videos. Really some agencies are rushing and ruining everything.

I WISH there was an opt out to the $1.50 downloads. If most my Shutterstock downloads turn to $1.50... Pond5 exclusive becomes very attractive.
That said..
Can anyone provide a link to the sales portal that results in the $1.50 downloads. I know they say web only, etc.,. But I would like to see the actual customer interface.
