As shutterstock contributer,  in april 2014 i have request payment,  as I have reached 75 dollars sales. Now is the end of december 2014 and still nothing.
That is outrageous.!!!
I send them complaint they didnt respond. Then in agust I called even customer contact number,  and they were apologizing telling that they will do what ever they can. Ofcourse,  they didnt do nothing. Then few weeks ago I tried to submit my complaint on ss forum,  seemed like thay refused it.
And the worse thing,  ny sales by time are declining,  although my portfolio is becaming better with more illustrations,  and besides my sales on istock and fotolia are growing.
I would like to hear your opinion about this issie.

Thx

Payment is automatically on Shutterstock. Did you get the email that you have reached payout? That email should come between the 1st-3rd of the start of the new month after you hit payout on the previous month.

Check your payout settings and make sure your earnings exceed the payout level. If you have set 100 dollar and you have less, you wont get paid. If you set 75 dollar and you have more you should get automatically paid.

I never had issues with their customer support. You need to write to [email protected]. If you write to [email protected] your email might not get a reply.

Shutterstock is definitely not a company to withhold payment on purpose, and they do make an effort to provide good customer service. I would email them again.

Depending on your content, December can be a slow month. If you offer a lot of seasonal images, such as xmas, December can be a good month. Most portfolios show ups and downs throughout a year. Keep adding good quality and diverse content, and you should see a slow but steady increase of earnings. But it gets tougher every year to build a steady income due to the fact more contributors submit more content every month.

I dont have seasonal type of illustrations. If I compare last uear with this year,  my earn7ng is more tham double less altgough in that 1 year my portfolio is much better and I have uploaded lot of illustrations.  There is no reason for that big drop in sales.

How do you get paid - PayPal, Check, something else?  Where do you live? These things definitely come into play.

Many people have had problems with payments to certain countries using certain methods.

Have you ever received a payment or is this your first one?

If you haven't then maybe it was never set up correctly.  If you have then check that the settings have not changed either with SS or the agency you use.

Just some thoughts.

Good Luck

Maybe you got unlucky with a search algorithm change. I dont know. It is hard to tell with so little information.

echo what others said here.
shutterstock is not one to fail on paying us. never had a single delay either.
my guess is there is something wrong in your method to receive payment or
your country is the one who is making it difficult for shutterstock to pay you.

other than that, a fraud as a contributor could be another reason why shutterstock
is not paying you. maybe your case is pending.

i am not saying the last situation is your case, just thinking what could be the matter.
rest assured shutterstock did not stay up there in #1 unchallenged just for
keeping your 75 bucks.

Have you ever gotten a payment from SS before?  About the only problem I have ever seen mentioned with SS is if the contributor's Paypal address was wrong.  If this happens it seems to take a long time to correct, at least partially because Paypal then has to verify that the money should be returned from the bad account.

Sorry you are having issues, but non-payment is NOT a common issue with SS, they are usually very prompt.  If you have not gotten paid it is because there is a problem with your account specifically, not SS in general.  You need to email them @ [email protected] and if you do not receive a response within a few days (excepting weekends) email again.  I have always gotten a prompt reply from them when using that address.

Are you sure you set your payout to PayPal?  If you accidentally set it to a check, the minimum for that is now $400.  Best to double check your profile to be sure.

Did you get the earnings email from Shutterstock?

The email reads something like this:

Quote
Dear Ronald xxxxx,

Just thought you would like to know that your Shutterstock earnings have been computed - and will be sent out by the 15th of the month.

Your Shutterstock Submit ID: xxxxxx
Payment Type: xxxxxx
Total Payment: $xxx.xx

If you meet your payment threshold, please expect your next Shutterstock payment update on January 02, 2015.

Thanks!
Shutterstock Support

How do you request a payment? Its automatically done. If you didnt get the email, something is the matter. You either didnt reach payout, or there is something wrong with your account. The only one who can help you here is Shutterstock really.

There is no way to request a payment on SS.  It is automatic once you reach the payout amount.  When that happens you get an email stating you have reached payout, see the post above.  If you did not receive this email then you have not reached payout or your email is wrong, which means your Paypal address might be wrong as well.

I would suggest you go back and double check your account settings carefully.

There's been enough posts here that no more are needed. You were more than helpful and so were others. MAR 123 just isn't getting it.

Hi Paul,

I have already sent mail to that e mail and they replied they will see what is the issue and that they need 6-8 weeks. That's a long period and I m not satisfy with that fact.  For example just recently I have got money from fotolia around 7 days I ve requested payment

Also, just to add, be sure you filled out the tax papers for your country.  If not, they keep something like  30% and then you don't have the $75 you think.
