Wasn't there a discussion on Shutterstock's forum yesterday, about the great big security gap in their deal with Facebook?

I guess they don't want it discussed publicly.  Might affect stock prices, or something.

Hi Colin,

Thanks for your email. We are aware of the other means provided by xDownder including the Chrome extension, Facebook loophole, etc. Please know that we have been diligently working on this; however, we cannot provide specific details about our enforcement efforts. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to fight against anti-piracy.

Best Regards,
Carl
Shutterstock Compliance

It appears someone else has got around Shutterstock/facebook security :'( during the last week in November, judging by the comments on the site it stopped working, but has been updated December 2, 2017.

New security issues with Shutterstock pop up all the time. Thieves, apps and stealing sites probably make use of the Facebook loophole. SS should fix   that but it doesn't look promising. Instead, they pretend everything is okay and hope that contributors forget about this issue.
I have stopped uploading to SS due to this.

Dammit, Shutterstock.  I've been with you for over a decade.

Today, I disabled all my images. (we'll see if they actually vanish like they're supposed to, or I have to be more aggressive)

There's a lot of abuse I'll put up with as a stock contributor, but don't devalue my work by giving it away.

I was actually making money from, them, too.

For anyone else who wants to know how, since Shutterstock support probably won't tell you, here's how to disable your images altogether.

From your dashboard, go to the drop down under your name in the upper right corner of the page, and select "account settings"

On the right side, about half way down on that page, will be buttons to opt out of selling extended license, etc.

Opt out of image sales.  Save settings. (big red button, bottom left)  You're done.

And charging 15c a download too? Offer ShutterStock / iStockPhoto / Fotolia / 123rf / DepositPhotos / Dreamstime..etc on their front page. I hope all these places jump on them and sue.

Ya know, I think I might do the same. I haven't had a single sale since my payout anyway ... and I can't bring myself to keep uploading to them with Adobe performing better for me :/
