Well it looks like a few of the Snobs with your greater then God attitude finally got what you wanted.
You had one of the better photogs willing to help if needed close his account because of your Attitudes.
What did he really do to you personally that was so bad that all you could do is put him down?
All he was doing is what i am sure most of you all do as well except you dont do it here or on any other MS site because of some reason unknown but you are probably doing it on the side on some other Blog you have or Facebook or even Flicker so big effn deal!
This man would help you and be a valued friend if you could get off your EGO trips and take some time to listen and discuss things instead of having that God almighty attitude.
Well enough said he is a friend of mine and shall be missed on this forum by many while others are celebrating.

well, I know of two people who have left in the past week or two and that was helix7 and nruboc. Are you referring to either one of those people?

First of all, there are only a few people on this forum that I would call a "friend", and that is because I have a) known them for years here on the internet or b) I have spoken to them personally about other matters, in real life, off forum.
Everyone else either sounds intelligent and discusses things or rants and raves all the time and shows a general lack of disrespect and/or uses foul language. Right now, you sound like the latter type.

As paranoid as that sounds, I myself have thought a lot of times that some people here have some other forum of which I am not invited to discuss things intelligently. I guess maybe that puts me in that latter type I was talking about earlier. :(

First off, this is posted in the Shutterstock forum area, rather than the general site forum. Did this sainted individual, whom you have failed to identify, close their account at Shutterstock? If not, then perhaps this is in the wrong forum.
Secondly, there are a diversity of opinions expressed here daily, in a wide variety of ways and styles, by a diverse group of people. You seem to be posting a blanket indictment of every single person who participates in this forum.
Whatever reason this mystery individual had for closing their account, I seriously doubt they would blame the entire site and everyone who posts here for their decision. I also doubt they sent you in here to fight their imagined battles for them. If they did, then that's pretty cowardly.
So what you are doing coming in here with this rant is only to make yourself look unreasonable and a bit unhinged. If that is what you were trying to accomplish, then well done.

PS: The title of your thread suggests that "we got what we wanted". When I read it I assumed we were getting a raise at SS. False advertising!

I am not sure if the OP is constructive but I have to agree that the attitude of some people on this board is quite negative which drove me crazy lately too and caused a waaaay too furious post of mine recently too ::) ...
( not forgetting that on the other hand there are MANY valuable posters, people and opinions to find here too.)

Laurin Rinder has taken a lot of abuse in this forum over the years, so I don't see why he would leave now? I don't know if his treatment was justified or not but I have seen him post something nasty about someone who didn't deserve it. He was quick on the edit button but I had already seen it. So I don't have much sympathy.

It's rather boring and non constructive as Leaf points out. I hope we don't rehash it in this thread.

My thoughts....
I like Laurin. I respect the fact that he's made a livelihood out of his artistic talents - whether that be music or photography. That being the case, Laurin has something that I don't...and that's the ability to sell himself and be a salesman. Over the years (I started this in 2005), I've found him to be helpful some of the time, I've found him to be a stubborn curmudgeon some of the time, and I've found him to be full of crap some of the time. The difference between Laurin and the "90%" that he refers to is the 90% aren't as loud as he is. He's alluded he was an image reviewer at Shutterstock (and may be for all I know) and I was an image reviewer at another agency. I'm sure he's reviewed some of my images and I know I've reviewed some of his images (one of which I specifically remember him throwing a fit about...and then later after the error was pointed out, him fixing it and resubmitting it so it got accepted). No big deal - as I mentioned, some of us would just move on....and others are loud about it.
Laurin will be back...it's in his personality. I'm not worried about it.
P.S.....for those that don't know....for many years, Laurin also mowed lawns for a living...ummm, I mean, he was a professional landscaper. Like everyone else, he's worked as an artist doing what he needs to do to get by. There is no glory in it. I don't mean that as a form of criticism...but I certainly hope folks realize that what a salesman portrays is not always the complete picture. We all struggle to get by and that is often overlooked in people you may look up to.
As for the title of this thread..."You all got what you wanted"....I think that's a bunch of glorified nonsense. I don't think anyone here wishes bad upon anyone. I have no problem listening to opinions even if they are mean spirited. It's the internet folks! Nothing to be taken personally.
