I feel for ya Renee. As far as I know I haven't had an image that I have on the stock sites stolen....as far as I know....but I did have one stolen off another site where it wasn't for sell or for free either and it was plastered everywhere and that upset me. Wish I had some advice for you.

Renee,

I was reading on Shutterstock forum that people were finding their photos on this site:
http://www.graphixshare.com ... i was looking through it to see if they had any of mine.. they didn't... But .. I saw your skeleton trees !  i can't seem to link straight to where i saw them but just do i search for skeleton trees..

it even still has the Shutterstock watermark on it ...

Thank you. They do have my images. I have let SS know. Lets hope they have some success with these sites. There are so many.

expect more of this, the hack ppl are just discovering this new content. Also with recent news around microstock, as contributors getting shafted, and really doing nothing about it... don't you never-ever think it goes unnoticed with these guys, they see you are easy targets who do almost nothing to protect their interests. Not as if much can be done anyway.. : / They just gnna take bites out you nothing anyone can really do anything about it.

How about complaining to the site's web hosting company?. If enough people get together in a class action, I'm sure the web host would be more than happy to pull the offending site from their servers, especially if SS are part of the complaint.

There are so many of these sites its sad, even if you get the isp to shut down the hosting of a site they are back on line within a day or two with some other host, but what tickles my balls even more is to see ads from shutter stock and dreamstime etc. on these sites

That was October 11th. Have you had any response from SS? Have they taken any action yet?

They seemed to have some success with some, thing I think I am realizing is that it is never gonna end. My most popular work is going to be stolen without regard. A friend said something very wise while counseling me in my anger and surprise, he said that "many people are like squirls hoarding nuts just stealing everything they can get their hands on without a care in the world believing they have done nothing wrong it isn't stealing to them they feel they have a right to it."
