You don't have to wait for the forms to do your taxes.  All you need to know is your annual income from microstock and make sure you report it on your taxes.  Keep the 1099 in your tax folder in case you get audited.  I do it that way every year.

Wow.  I didn't know that.  I always wait to get the forms, even though I keep meticulous records about my earnings.  Some of the sites don't 1099 anyway, so it is best to keep your own records.

In the past, I never waited for them either, as I keep my own records. This year I will likely wait for them, as I owe $$ and not in any hurry to file.  :)

Hello Lisa,

To be fair, I suppose that if you don't keep any records and don't want to sift through each sites' earnings pages then you must wait for the 1099's.  As you've said those (like me and you) who keep monthly records of each site can get away with it.  At the advice of my accountant, he just reminds me to maks sure I attach the 1099's to my return when I file it away pending any autits....OH MAN...did I just say AUDIT??  Let's hope not!!!!!

I recently read that anyone in the US that itemizes using 1040A or anyone with specific other deductions (something to do with teachers) has to wait until Feb. 15 to file anyway.  The IRS is still updating some of their programming to reflect changes to the tax code made in December.  http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110116083916AA7SpDo

Oh, well there ya go.  We don't have to hurry then.  My husband is a teacher.  Any excuse to procrastinate a bit more ;)

I got one from FT the other day (which I think is weird coz I thought all of the agencies don't send them unless you made $600 or more per calendar year) still haven't gotten one from SS yet.  Hopefully this week that will show up.  I'm getting my 1099 forms shipped from the IRS site since you can't download it from there and use it to file wonder what's up with that?
