Usually when I get rejections, I just move on. Most or all of my photos are accepted by most of the agencies anyway, so usually I don't waste time trying to get it accepted everywhere. However, this time I've received one from SS that makes me scratch my head. It reads:

"Title -- Title must be descriptive of the subject matter and must be in English. Titles cannot contain special characters, spelling/grammar errors, or repeat words/phrases in excess."

The title of the photo is:

"Reclining Buddha in Myeik, Myanmar"

Here's the photo:

three out of the five words are not english  ;)
I had similar rejections of travel photos.

Try extending the title, e.g.: Reclining Buddha in a temple at Myeik, Myanmar

To me it was explained by an other small agency. Perhaps the same is true for SS.
NOT allowed ..all special characters .. ","..
Try it without ","

The OP put the description in speech marks for their post as in they were quoting their title/description being used for the image.

Anyway it seems SS reviewers are having difficulties with the English language recently I had one just recently for the same BS reason.

I added more words as suggested. It worked. It's weird though. Buddha and Myanmar are international words and shouldn't be affected by this, although I believe the Americans still kling to the old English name Burma. The name of the country has always been Myanma (without the "r") in Burmese.

Reviewer with an itchy rejection finger.

Right! Possible someone making quick money, mailing it in. Wrong button. Lazy review. Sometimes I get a list of the same rejection like "Noise--Image contains excessive noise, grain, artifacts and/or is poorly rasterized." when I know that Sister images are already approved.

Also most of the answers are dwelling on the English words and forgetting the "Title must be descriptive of the subject matter" part. It should say, they rejected the image for the description not being enough detail to describe the image. I've had editorial rejected for description. (and yes for special characters when I left in cut and pasted names with or in them.)

What I'd say to the OP is wait until Monday and re-submit, or possibly add a better more descriptive description. I see nothing wrong.
