with the new Disagree Agree feature, show your opinion by clicking the accordingly button on this post :)

What "new Disagree Agree "?
Edit: It appeared only after I have sent my post ;) )
-
I thought it would be more correct and less nasty feeling to simply label the arrows as agree or disagree. The images are cached though so if you aren't seeing them (i'm not yet either) you just have to wait.
-
Two little icons, an heart and a crossed heart, could be aesthetically nicer
Or simply + and -

I agree but people were getting in a tizzy about getting -'s
Nobody should feel bad about getting -'s but the down arrow seemed to promote ill feelings or be some sort of an insult. I thought that a simply disagree label might be more clear. Perhaps people will know not to be insulted if someone simply disagrees with them.
-
It seems to work the same was as the old - did, i.e. each disagree just cancels out a heart and vice versa.
Wouldn't it be better (assuming the feature is deemed valuable) to show the number of agrees/disagrees, there being a big difference between a post which gets five hearts and 0 disagrees and a post which might get 40 hearts and 35 disagrees (or vice versa).
-
Here on FF, 'disagree' flickers horribly when I hover over it.
-
Can't see any new buttons :-\ (Firefox)
-
Hit F5

Hit F5
Did that - can we have back the arrow and the heart, please? Pretty please? With a cherry on top?
-
The "Disagree" is too bold . . . . with all due respect.
-
Buttons look the same here on Safari too. Am I just not seeing something different or really that asleep still?

maybe.. just testing things out. I still don't see the new buttons so I can't give them a visual adjustment (yet)

Yeah, I highly agree but it would take several days of headache and coding and possibly crashing everything to get the totals showing for the + and -. The original plug in is coded to just have a running total (unfortunately)

OK, thanks for the explanation.

It's definitely on my to-do list.. I just haven't had the nerve to tackle it yet.
-
I just see "vote this post up" and "vote this post down" with the heart and arrow.

I disagree :)

I like the running total for a start but if you can show both, it would be a nice way to allow people to respectfully agree or disagree and others to see, some do some don't. The way it is now you can't see if 10 agree and ten disagree, which would explain more than one agree one disagree?
ps All I see are the old. Going for an F5 now.
Nope Hearts and arrows...

first there's a small bug -- if you disagree, then heart, the post ends up with a +1 when it should be a 0
but bigger issue is using 'disagree' -- I never gave negatives to posts I disagreed with (and I never vote a post up JUST because I agree with it) I vote on posts based on the actual content and how it's expressed - disagreeable speech can easily be countered with more free speech. rather the negative should be used only to chastise abusive, ad hominem, and other nastiness, which is better covered by the negative sign

If you click Disagree one time it will give -1, if you click disagree once more time it will turn to 0
Same for Agree
(not very intuitive btw)

I wish everybody thought like this <3
(didn't heart your comment even though I agree :D)

That's because when you click it once it votes disagree, when you click it again it takes away your vote. That is the way it has always worked.

maybe i'm old school but i hate these modern rating systems.
if you agree or disagree just explain your opinion, i mean a forum is for discussion, it's not Twitter or FB.
-
Thank goodness.
With the old system I thought people were trying to tell me that they love me. How did they even really know me? I mean, we are judged based on what we do and say but that was taking it waaay to literally. All the attention was very flattering but were they for real? Or were they just after my money? It was all so confusing and even moderately insulting depending on who rated it up or down. Sorry gents, I don't "go that way" ::)
Now at least I can tell that people agree with me without the social confusion.
-
This finally switched over for me. Whew!
-
Mine was still the old until I hit a Control+F5 (reload page, clear cache) Now I see it.
I'd agree, that Agree / Disagree is better than love / hate. More about ideas or opinions, instead of personal.
My only wish would be that both totals show, instead of a running total. If someone has five Agree and five Disagree it's different looking than 0 which implies that no one cared enough to give an opinion.
Also some people in the past wanted to see how many hearts they could accumulate (I never understood why) But if the negatives don't subtract, they could have 2000 plus and 3000 minus and on their profile it would show as 2000 + which is kind of misleading?
Thank goodness.

agreed. It's high on my priority list.

Its not better.
Its patching and it is a confusing patch since texts are situated underneath eachother and pop to the surface in unpredictable ways.
Can you not just get rid of the minus votes. They only cause witchhunting and other personal abusement.
?
also try and click and see that you cannot neutralize your vote, but only make it better or worse.
