How to "just show me the thread"?

Currently when you click on a thread it takes you to the bottom of the thread. Very annoying when you haven't read any of the thread but there have been lots of posts. Is there a setting I can change so the default behavior would be to just show me the thread?

I completely agree that this is very annoying... at least for me.  I was beginning to think it was just me.  Bummer that there's no setting to change it.

If you click on the thread title it takes you to the top of the thread, if you click on the arrow it takes you to the bottom.

where do you see an arrow?

Ok just realized that the main page is different, I always press 'show unread' so that it only shows the treads where I haven't read all the posts and it is a different format. Pressing the title takes you to top of page and pressing the little arrow icon on right takes you to the bottom.
