I'm wondering if people want the number of posts shown beside your post in each thread.  Is it nice to see how long a member has been here or is it nice with a clean layout and to have that gone?

The post count I don't care about (with all the rubbish posted here) but the date might be useful to see if you're dealing with an experienced contributor/member, a newcomer or a troll ;)

The date someone joined this group has no bearing on whether they are an experienced contributor or not, it just tells you when they joined nothing else.

Nope, not really that interesting or relevant so I wouldn't bother with number of posts

Hence "/members"
Most here like Sean, Leaf, Lisa, etc.. are indeed very experienced so it does have bearing.
But you also have a point, I don't mind either way, I'm all for a clear design so the less clutter the better.

I voted no. As long as I can see that number in the person's profile - if I should be interested to see it and don't know who they are - that's good. It's not something you need to see all the time and thus keeping the threads uncluttered seems to me to be preferable.

Should actually prefer not even to have levels based on number of posts, rather on number of useful posts. It just encourages those who have very little to do and most often less to contribute to say even more.

I voted yes, but it doesn't matter much to me. Valid pros and cons have been presented, so whichever way it turns out is ok with me.
