Ok.. a new round of logos - also the last round as the contest is now closed.

Feel free to give your thoughts and critique.  Also, remember to give low votes for the ones you don't like so the logos get ranked properly

I voted but have to say I like Mactrunk's logo with the speech bubble in the camera much better than any of the others. Too bad he was late. Just my opinion but since you asked thought I'd chime in.

I believe the #200 from Up2date is by far the best!
I like how word "stock" is completely enclosed in the speech bubble, which greatly symbolizes purpose of this web site which is: Discussion about the stock! I think that is great logo with idea inside! :)

The selection in Round 2 is a little unfair. You've got something like 6 logos that are variations of the same theme and two others that are distinctly different. What happens is that votes will be spread out over the 6 benefiting the the other two.

I don't quite understand. You can vote for as many as you like and give as many 5s or 1s as you like. The face that most are variations shouldn't play into it at all.

I think the other two might just be benefiting from just being more professional looking and visually interesting.  #104 in particular has much nicer fonts and better use of the colors leaf picked.  Just my opinion. :)

It shouldn't play into it but in situations a like this it usually does. In my opinion should have the best one of the 6 compared to the other two.

I agree. I think this is the boldest logo of the bunch due to the speech bubble in that red filled color next to the bold black font. you can read it really fast. I would like to see a version of this logo with a slightly different font as the "C" in the "MICRO" seems off somehow. Maybe if the designer would give more breathing room between the M I C so that you see a little more white space. That and a version of the speech bubble without a pointy tip and more smooth.

The term that you're looking for is "kerning."  ;)

If there was no such word as "kerning", most people would understand my description. I didn't want to assume everyone knew that word. By the way, I know what kerning is  ;) Thanks for enlightening the rest of us

#200 is a fast read and the poor letter spacing can be fixed but I won't give the word "Group" such a secondary role.

I agree 200 is the best out of the choices.  The circle bubbles look like magnifying glasses, and I don't really like the round with the pointy bottom.  The others just have the same bubble copied and pasted in different places.

I really like the play of negative and positive space in #200 which complements the diversity of viewpoints I see in this forum.

for some reason, I don't like #200

leaf could have just done that on his own.. there is no creativity.. I think it's downright bad..

#186 or #198 are better designs, but reddish color of the bubble in #200 makes people like it, because it is the only aspect popping out for it.. nothing else works for it.. too common..

designwise, it is clearly #186 or #198, and I have designed my fair share of logos..

but I have to add that this site belongs to leaf and his taste is the only one that matters in the end..

as a user of msg, I will be happy with whatever logo he picks.. we will get used to it eventually anyway..

+ all are better than the current one :)

well this isn't going to be easy :)  I'm not sure popular opinion is the best way to pick a logo either but it is really nice to have everyone's input.  I don't like #200 as my fav either but apparently lots of people do.

I thought 186 was rather clever.  I like logos that don't hit you across the head with the 'answer' of why they work.  I feel that one is in that category and feel the popular opinion picks a logo that is obvious.

I really like Shutterstock's logo but I don't think it would have been picked by popular choice.

#186 is not just a bubble.. it is also a "smile"

it is simple.. it "works"

You have 35k members, 69 picked #200

You should pick what you like.

Looks like a breast to me.  Especially in the thumbnail.

Yeah, its not clear its a text bubble, hence I picked #185

I didn't see the breast analogy but I wasn't looking at the thumb. With the larger image it looks like part of a text bubble to me, either that or a breast with an extremely sharp nipple.
