It appears that one of Wut's posts was recently added to ..

It doesn't appear that his account login info was compromised, so his post must have been changed another way.. how, I don't know (yet).
So, if you notice anything strange please let me know and also double check your own recent posts to make sure they only contain what YOU wrote

Maybe you should also check when wut last visited the local tavern and if he does not have a little chemical experiment going in his basement? ;)

The post in question doesn't have a "last edit" time stamp on it which suggests either it wasn't hacked or the hacker made the edit directly in the database or using an admin account login. If it's the latter leaf you may want to look at who might have access to an admin or moderator account.
---
admin edit: I didn't change anything.. just adding this text as an example of what happens when if I were to modify a post with an admin account

I thought Wut's post was strange because there weren't any of those irritating emoticons that he uses to a painful degree. :) ;) :D ;D >:( :( :o 8) ??? ::) :P :-[ :-X :-\ :-* :'(

Tnx for stepping in for my defense, mate ;) (knowingly or not)

even if a post is modified with an admin account there is a 'last edit' note on it. I'll edit your post as an example. So it would have to be either a database hack or some other sneaky SMF hack.

Was it an evil Wut from a parallel dimension? Did he have a goatee?
-
Databases have logging, but of course that would only be accessible via an adminstrative logon to the server. It might or might not reveal an unauthorizied i.e. "hacker" access to the database. If someone actually managed this, of course the entire server is compromised and if it's an ISP's machine he would be pretty alarmed to hear this.

ROFL! I think you have uncovered the plot Cory ;D

While we're tracking down this mystery keep your eyes out for Yeti's, Alien's and the lost city of Atlantis.

LOL! I'm ok with reruns on TV because the stuff that gets posted here is sure entertainment!

Oh so you've been peeping into my office closet? :D
Yes, WUT and I resolved this PM and yes, there was no edit and if you wonder, it was posted right between two other posts from him, (time stamp) while he was online, which makes it even stranger.
Can I log on twice at the same time, with the same account from two different places? (don't know, just asking?)
I blame March Madness and the servers having an overload with people making out their pick sheets at the last minute.

All you need is 2 Computers with 1 modem set to PPPOE / Multi Session (at same place) and more than one Internet Service Provider account and a website which allows multiple login to the same account.
Just answering.

Yeah, now that I think about it, I have logged in on the same computer, second window, same browser to find a quote. So WUT wouldn't have noticed if a second him was on at the same time. Just a thought. Ah, Nevermind. :D
