Well? Only a couple of these are fair choices IMO. ;)

What a strange and ... I must admit ... slightly unpleasant poll with mostly negative options.

There must be a whole mass of reasons why an individual does not become a premium member.

What's the purpose of this poll?

Draw attention to the Support the Site page. Not trying to guilt anyone, just trying to be a little funny. I found it worthwhile to spend the $25. Maybe others will too.

Personnaly, I would have sorted these four ways of supporting in the inverse order.  ;)

25.00 is one and an half weeks of photo sales for me! that would be way to much money to listen to whiney people complain about their stock agency that they belong to free is ok.

.......way to much money to listen to whiney people complain about their stock agency that they belong to ...........

I hear ya, Jack!!   And I simpathize with that  thought.  But more than that, I have to wonder about the folks that come on here just to  fight with others.  What's the point of that? And there's been a couple threads where that has been hot and heavy lately.
Heck, if that's all I've got to with my free time, come on a forum, nit pick and call people names.... I'd really need to take a closer look at my life.  Maybe up the barrel of a 45.   Too harsh?.....  okay, I'll just say, they need to get lives.
But you are right on with your point, sir!  It does get old after awhile.

I'm a premium.   Why?  I've gotten more than $25 bucks worth of education here on MSG.  For sure!! I'd have paid a lot more elsewhere for those tidbits.
          2. I think for the most part,  it's a really great forum. For the most part,  informative. Usually get news here first concerning the industry. Don't have time to surf the net all day, MSG keeps me up to date
           3. I think for the most part,  the majority of MSG members are decent people that usually look out for each other and encourage one another. Unlike many other forums out there.
           4. I think Leaf is just fine as a moderator.  In fact, he is nicer than me and puts up with a heck of a lot more than I would.  Point, there's a few malcontents around here that, if it was my forum,  I'd have bounced off a long time ago.

I can also understand the "just can't afford the 25".   Times are indeed tough for a lot of folks and,  it's only getting worse.  25 bucks is 25 bucks, heck, in my town that's only 6 gallons of gas which doesn't go far in a Chevy Suburban.

Fortunately,  I could still ante up the 25 and was happy to contribute. As for the site... my only advice to Leaf would be...   dump the couple a-hoes and will all enjoy ourselves more.

Thanks to Leaf for his work and time on MSG.  Glad I could help in some way.   8)=tom

It has a whole lot to do with the abusive rants of certain members of this forum who are allowed to conduct themselves in any manner they like and it's okay with the moderator. Case in point, the most recent "Yuri, I admire you" thread. The thread was locked, with a note that the insults had been removed from the thread. Unless I'm reading a different thread than everyone else, I'd say that this insult "removal" was very selective and that the person who has very little to contribute to this forum EXCEPT insults was once again given the nod that his behavior is okay.

I'm sure he'll chime in here again with more choice words for everyone's enjoyment, so all prepare to genuflect at his profound superiority.  ::)

Man, I wish I had the power to delete this stupid thread.

You have even a more forceful energy than making this disappear.
That power is not looking at it.

I often wonder why people in this forum apply so many of their emotional attributes to threads.
Now it's got me wondering why Pixart wishes  it were in his/her power to make this thread disappear.

Obviously something said, or implied, or even the very concept of this thread has set to work a chain
of events that has moved him/her to make his/her feelings known.

I know Leaf is concerned about his readers feelings. I guess he has to to maintain order.
But me.....I don't give a crap. I say whats on my mind, and don't care who it bothers.

There's only one rule: I'm not affected either way when I am criticized by others. I figure if I
can dish it out then I should be able to take what ever is given me in return.

So Pixart try and  have a good day

I chose to support Kiva. I heard about Panthermedia there on  this board, and so the first money I earned there I donated to Kiva through this board. The next $25 I donated because I wanted to.  :)

Frankly I find the last choice in your poll in very poor taste and choose to abstain.

Another vote though for thread deletion.

The last option 'I don't think Leaf is a good manager or forum moderator' was not intended to answered affirmatively. Geez.     Maybe i'm not good at designing tongue-in-cheek polls.

I removed the option anyways, 2 people answered yes and that's depressing.

Exactly my point, zymm'  .   Why do folks like that bother coming around then?  If this forum is so bad and all that contribute are such idiots... why do they come here?  Please,  don't.  Leave the lousy moderator and his idiot members alone.
I'm glad you removed it.  Leaf doesn't deserve it nor need to read it.

I don't think this poll was taken in the spirit was intended.  I think the OP was trying to shine a light on the fact that more people could pay a membership and it would go to good.  It has had the opposite effect though, and has brought out the negative.

I would like to think that I know Leaf, but really, I don't know him any better than most of you.  What I do know is that I love his site, and as AKA Tom says, he has learned a lot by being here.   I'm sure this site has returned more to me than I paid for a membership.   Leaf has a few referral links as a way to pay for things, but he has always encouraged everyone to add their own referral links.  I think he is more than generous with the way he runs this place.  I see MSG as more of a co-op than someone's site.

Maybe that's why I get all ruffled when I see the negative talk.  If you don't have something nice to say, why bother?

But me.....I don't give a crap. I say whats on my mind, and don't care who it bothers.

You see, that's the difference between you and me.  If I thought that I offended you or lashed out in a moment with malice, it would eat me alive.

So Pixart try and  have a good day

Thank you, I will.

And thank you Leaf, for having the best microstock forum that I have visited.

Yes ... and I think the reason why was because, with the exception of the first option, all the others were 'loaded'.

Okay, a few people have answered them because this is anonymous, and they may possibly have done it from perversity. But how many people would admit, face to face with a pollster, that they are tight with their money, or don't believe economically depressed people deserve a $25 loan, etc.?

Unfortunately, although the original poster said it wasn't intended to make people feel guilty over not becoming Premium Members, that's how it came over.
