I'm glad to see it back - it was totally unreachable for a day or so for me.

Yay! Site is up and running. Any ideas what is causing these problems?
1) Coronavirus?
2) Huawei?
3) Russia?

I was also unable to open the site for a few days. Even the websites which check if a site is on or offline gave me that it was down worldwide.

Searched info on Fakebook but nor the msg page or Tyler pages mentioned anything. It was very strange. Started to think if some agency took legal action to shut msg down...

Me too! MSG down but not out! A lot of chaos out there recently. But not all bad. SS sales shifting into high gear while DP can't seem to upload files. Very bumpy kind of start to 2020!

Might be good to have an additional msg facebookgroup, just as a backup.

Out of date SSl certificate this time.

I'm not sure what the problem was, but a server reset fixed the issue. I could have fixed it earlier but I was away in a place without internet so i didn't know about the issue until I came back :(

I'm not sure what the problem was, but a server reset fixed the issue. I could have fixed it earlier but I was away in a place without internet so i didn't know about the issue until I came back :(

Looked like this.

From some searching (I don't know what this means) "disabling Anti-DDoS protection of LSWS solved the issue."

And from Cloudfair: "your origin server is resetting TCP connections during the SSL handshake, so the handshake fails" but reading the error screnn, that could be a different issue.

Here's one more.  https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003011431-Troubleshooting-Cloudflare-5XX-errors#525error

Error 525: SSL handshake failed

525 errors are often caused by a configuration issue on the origin web server. Error 525 occurs when these two conditions are true:

The SSL handshake fails between Cloudflare and the origin web server, and
Full or Full (Strict) SSL is set in the Overview tab of your Cloudflare SSL/TLS app.

Resolution

Contact your hosting provider to exclude the following common causes at your origin web server:

    No valid SSL certificate installed
Port 443 (or other custom secure port) is not open
    No SNI support
The cipher suites accepted by Cloudflare does not match the cipher suites supported by the origin web server

If 525 errors occur intermittently, review the origin web server error logs to determine the cause. Configure Apache to log mod_ssl errors. Also, nginx includes SSL errors in its standard error log, but may possibly require an increased log level.

If you can get your host to increase the log level, maybe they can see what's happening?

Yesterday message was "unable to create tables {smf something}" IIRC. Lasted for some time and then everything was good again. Apologies had too many things in mind and forgot to report.

Yep - there was a database error.  I got it fixed yesterday morning.
I've also managed to stop some of the spam, which should help speed a little bit (hopefully)

How's this a bumpy start? Maybe improve your portfolio instead of whining, hey?

There's something else going on. The General says 1 member and 200 guests viewing the board. This one says, 1 member and 3 guests. Someone or something is monitoring and taking up the speed, slowing down the whole forum.

"https://www.microstockgroup.com/forum/#c1 might have a temporary problem or it could have moved.

Error code: 522

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments."

Maybe there's a way for Leaf to block the bots? Unless it's some kind of attack? How many of these guests are real people? They are all reading the General Board, not the rest.

1 Member and 124 Guests are viewing this board. May 3rd
4 Members and 187 Guests are viewing this board. May 7th

Something is wrong or someone is attacking the forum.
Off Topic = 2 Members and 45 Guests are viewing this board.

Others, for example?
Generated AI = 1 Member and 0 Guests are viewing this board.
Site Related = 1 Member and 3 Guests are viewing this board.
Shutterstock = 1 Member and 38 Guests are viewing this board.

If you're the owner of this website:

Contact your hosting provider letting them know your web server is not completing requests. An Error 522 means that the request was able to connect to your web server, but that the request didn't finish. The most likely cause is that something on your server is hogging resources.

Right now the site is OK, but I certainly agree there is something that is stealing resources.  The software is getting quite old and I'm also wondering about moving the forum software over to discourse.  Has anyone tried discourse?  It looks like a very intuitive and more modern feel.  I'm open to suggestions.

FYI Leaf
What are the pros of Discourse

Clean, adaptable interface optimized for both desktop and mobile devices
Advanced moderation tools including spam detection and user trust levels
Real-time updates and notifications without page reloads
Extensive plugin system for customizable functionality
Integrated trust mechanism that rewards positive user contributions

What are the cons of Discourse

Complex initial setup requiring Linux server and command-line skills.
High resource demands needing powerful hosting to ensure smooth operation.
Customization often requires knowledge of Ember.js and Ruby on Rails.
User interface has a learning curve and may confuse users familiar with traditional forums.
Real-time updates using WebSocket can cause issues on older browsers and devices.

Strictly my personal take ---I would sunset the site. The micro stock business isn't what is used to be, yes I know some of you are making millions but few, and many of use have moved on to other revenues ventures to include myself.  It sure was fun back in the day but the ride is over for many of us now...

Just thinking, which at my age doesn't happen often, why not Facebook?  Here is a fishing site (see below link) I belong to that includes side chats. One administrator and some moderators to run the free site that Facebook updates to make sure it runs on today's platforms.

Would be a shame though. The site has been around here since 2006. That is almost twenty years. I see quite some people who live by this site. They will survive once it's gone but still.
I still think, apart from some stupid discussions now and then, that the site is still very informative for people who are selling or think of beginning on microstock.  Let alone all the history topics and comments from the old days which also now answers a lot of questions for seekers.
So Leaf, keep it up. At least until the 20th anniversary!

edit:
There is nothing else out there that can compare to msg. Would like to be proven wrong but things like the forums on Adobe or Getty's are unbearable.
