Title: Site Updates

Here are a few things I have thought about adding.
Comments on them or other things you would like?

First I thought it would be cool to have some sort of a 'meter' to show what sort of experience we had.  This would give new people some sort of a guide if an answer was coming from someone with 0 images in the microstock world, or 5000 images.

The way i think I will do this is use Dreamstime as my measuring stick.  I will take everyones top 40 (or less if you have less than 40) selling images and count how many downloads they have.  this will give a sort of 'rating'   I thought I would use dreamstime as I think it is a good site, pays the photographer perhaps the best and shows the downloads.

Another thing I thought of doing that could be fun is have a 'challenge'.
Those who wanted to participate would have to submit an image to dreamstime within a givin period that was taken of a certain subject.  Say for example that this week had to have an image of a knife.  We would all try to submit successful stock shots of knife images.  Once submitted, and the submission time was over, the downloads for the knife shots would be tallied over time and the 'winner' would be the one with the most downlads.

I think the challenge would be fun to see how others work around a problem, and what images we come up with.  See what different types of images sell, and learn from eachother.

leaf,

I'm not sure I understand the first part, but I like the idea of the challenge.  That might be fun.  Maybe we should set a period of "shooting time" when a new theme is decided before images are uploaded, so they would be approved also about the same time and the "race" would be more accurate.

Adelaide

yeah i think deciding a 'shooting time' would be necesary.

It could also be created in a way, that any downloads before the race started wouldn't be counted.
