I'm just curious if it is possible to ignore an entire thread.

Thanks :)

Think I suggested something like that a looong time ago. The answer from most was (if I remember correctly), just do not read the threads you do not want to read. I can see the value in it, as you will not have to work through all those updates time and again. But that is just me and it seems you  ;)

See I knew I wasn't alone :D

Would really be nice though to do that and ignore certain boards on the main forum like for sites I don't submit to as well.  But I shall just keep skipping by the ones I don't want to read.

ignoring boards and ignoring threads are two different things.  Ignoring boards is set up and you can control it here
http://www.microstockgroup.com/profile/?area=ignoreboards
Or go to Profile then Modify Profile > Ignore Boards options

Ignoring threads is an add-on to the forum that only works so-so and really slows down the forum so I chose not to have it.

Thanks Leaf.  Good to know that there is at least an option for it but sucks that it's dodgy and makes the site slow.  So yeah I'll just go on skipping the threads that don't interest me.

Yep, there is a 'workaround' that you can use ... just don't click on threads that don't interest you. Bit like when you Google stuff really. I've been trying to get Google to only show me results that I really, really like but that doesn't appear to be an option in 'Preferences'. Conclusion? The 'interweb' just doesn't work like what it should.

Maybe you just do not know Google well enough. You might be surprised about how much Google are capable of customizable filtering in the extended options (like country specific sites, etc.). So one can actually get quite close to getting only what you want. Wonderful thing about technology - it is not stagnant and these days more and more customizable for that special personal appearance and functionality ;)
Will be a while before it can guess what you wanted, but we are not that silly (or sarcastic) to imply that that is what was expected here, are we.  ;D
