I found a strange bug today. I wanted to post a link, but when I hit the "Preview", the link was modified.
Here is the link itself: (removed http://www.amazon.com/Getting-Started-in-Stock-ebook/ (http://www.amazon.com/Getting-Started-in-Stock-ebook/)) "d" then "p"/B00560R9VC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1309273687&sr=8-2"
Here is the link with the URL markers: http://www.amazon.com/Getting-Started-in-Stock-ebook/dp/B00560R9VC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1309273687&sr=8-2 (http://www.amazon.com/Getting-Started-in-Stock-ebook/dp/B00560R9VC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1309273687&sr=8-2)
When I hit Preview, the software running the forum automatically changes "d" then "p" to DepositPhotos!
I'll try the Post now and see if the same thing occurs.

well, like the stock sites say... "it's a feature not a bug" :)
i have it set so that if you say S S or C S or D P then it automatically changes to the site you are referring to... but sometimes, like this case, it just causes problems. Maybe I should just change it back...
-
Yes, nice feature to save typing, but I think all Amazon books are in the "d" then "P" folder! Could make it tricky to properly refer to it. How often do we talk about DP these days?

Sorry - you have changed it, I see. The link in the original post is now magically back to its original form. Thanks.

Just in case it comes up again, here's another way around it. tinyurl.com free, makes a short url, done deal.

Actually I don't like TinyURL because I can not see the actual link. I refrain from clicking in any unknown link.
Leaf, I do prefer the compact view of initials, but if the agency name is preferred for clearness, maybe you can set the software to substitute only when it is surrounded by spaces, or by space at left and comma at right.

Agree, the compact form is better because it's cryptic and elitist and only those who already know (us) can understand it. I like feeling part of a special club.

No, it's not meant to be elitist, but given that I do most of my reading of the forum in a Smartphone, compact forms are more convenient.
And quoting could be used more wisely, too, sometimes it's unnecessary and only makes us waste time scrolling down.
