I want to publicly thank Leaf for the work he has done by separating the Symbiostock discussions from the regular Stock/Microstock discussions, allowing the later to be more visible to all of those interested. Even to Symbisostock participants.

I'd like to remind that when this issue was brought up in the Fotolia discussion some Symbiostock participants said that the separation didn't make sense because there wasn't many people left interested in discussing the Stock/Microstock part of the business, and pointed to the half-dozen discussions with messages added that day.

At the current moment, and after the separation occurred a couple days ago (if I'm not mistaken) there's over 20 discussions updated today with new messages about the Stock/Microstock business against 7 in the Symbiostock section.

This only proves that those accused of having Symbio-phobia did not have any phobia against Symbiostock (in my case particularly by the contrary), but simply detected an unbalance in the MSG that needed correction.

Again, thank you Leaf.

Almost all of the symbio discussions have moved to symbiostock.org. It's not that people have lost interest its that most of the discussion isn't here anymore. I agree it is better that they are separate.

I think it has certainly helped to have the separated.  Topics that are on the front page get a lot more attention so it's nice to see general topics being seen as well.  When the front page was filled with technical and specific symbio threads it was bumping other conversations off the front page.

I think it could still be useful (as was suggested) to have the general symbio discussion in the main area but I'll leave it is now for a bit.

It also works better that there is now room for many more threads on the front page so both symbio and regular discussion can have it's place.

There was a spammer who brought up 11 topics, some of them 6 years old. I guess thats a result.  ;)

This is a reasonable interim move, but it won't be necessary for very long.

It won't take long until almost all Symbiostock discussions move to the dedicated forums, so I think it'd make sense to remove the separation once they do as it'll look really odd to have a section with nothing but old dead threads in it. Leaf will know when the time has come :)

Meantime, if anyone wants to join us in Symbiostock discussions, head on over.

You seriously need to solve that bitterness and learn that the world is not against you, or that all revolves around your particular interests.

The only rant seen in all this process came from you. The rest of the people only asked for a more balanced forum.

You mention more topics were updated now because of the split, in fact there was a spammer bringing up ancient threads, and symbiostock moved to its own platform. So yes, an ill informed rant.

I'm all for the separation just wish that there was an announcement somewhere about it.  I didn't see one and I'm here every day.  Can anyone point me to where that took place at?

Sorry, no there wasn't an announcement.  I just moved it after a sidetracked discussion in a Fotolia thread.

... and by the looks of things I may just merge them again.  There is only a few symbio threads active now so it would make sense to have everything together like it was

... sorry for the back and forth everyone.  I've included the symbiostock threads within the regular list again.  It is silly to have a seperate section when there is only 8 recent topics.  If it grows large again I'll consider a better solution.

Ok.. well if popular opinion wants it in two sections then so be it.
If the symbio threads die down to only a couple then there is seriously no sense in having a separate section but until then...

I want to echo XPTO's original post thanking you, Leaf.  Glad you listened to your members and made the change.  (I don't think I've seen another post with 17 "hearts".  That should be a big vote of confidence that you did the right thing.

Was really disappointed this morning when I saw Symbiostock mixed back into the top stories.  I'm really glad you separated them again.

Agree, glad you did split it back up. Makes it a lot easier to read.
