Title: Whining or boasting
Post by: heywoody on August 31, 2012, 17:22
Lots of threads but, thankfully, not all could be categorised under these headings.

I actually don't mind someone having a good old rant but I find a lot of the boasting very irritating - possibly as I don't have a lot to boast about  :-[

I agree with you. Right now, in the microstock world, it's easier for me to relate to people whining than the ones boasting. I am happy that some people are finding success and that their hard work is paying off...on one hand, it brings some hope to hear that not all is in the toilet, on the other hand, I don't want to hear about it. Plus, there's the added fact that one never really knows if the boastee is actually telling the truth, or just blowviating.

Boasting belongs on the agencies' own forums.  Whining belongs here.

Whining is fine if it is justified (like about crappy rates from the agencies) but often it is just people going completely off the rails when they have had a rejection or coming up with crazy conspiracy theories. Very annoying.

Boasting would be worse if there were more people doing it, as there are only a couple of crazy characters here who actually regularly boast it is pretty funny and not too overwhelming. I'm sure if it went on more it would win out.

I got 20 Els this week on dreamolia, I requested payout on Tuesday and still haven't received anything. Just tried to contact support about it via the site contact form, spent 20 minutes trying to get past the captcha, eventually made it, then the site went down. Think I'm better off flipping burgers  ;)

Hey... just because I am paranoid doesn't mean that someone isn't out to get me.   ;D
