Being that the UGCXevent (http://www.microstockgroup.com/index.php?topic=6762.0) is approaching fast I thought I should have a business card to give to people who are trying to figure out who I am. In trying to think up a business card idea for MSG and after coming up with some simplistic (boring) ideas, I thought perhaps it could be fun to have everyone's (or a lot of peoples) avatar on the card in a packed grid sort of way. This would get across the idea of a community.
Perhaps that would also be a fun idea for the top banner - but that will be a second project.
I thought i should ask permission before using anyone's avatar so.... if you are ok with having your avatar on the business card, and possibly in the site banner, along with 100+ other people's avatars please post in this thread.

You can have mine of course, but I think there are better ones around, like illustrators' stuff. I really envy those illustrators, real artists. I just push the button of my cam ;-)

I haven't decided yet. I made the logo while trying to figure out what to put on the card. I just had the logo on the card and i thought it looked to much like a law firm or something.?! (image attached.. contact info would be on the other side of the card) .. so thought avatars might be better. Perhaps the logo will be on the contact info side of the card, or together with the avatars, or scrapped all together.

I love the idea, original and clever, and it will certainly be a talking point. And it'll be like sharing a little version of your community every time you give one out. :P Make sure the printer can get them done in time. Not long to go now!
I have the under-sized Moo cards with a selection of photos on the back. I thought they were famous, but everyone asks about them - making them a real talking point. I think your idea will do the same but without the compromise of non-standard size. Smart move!

Gotta be honest with you I don't like it, but only because the S bothers me, I think that font is fine for the name underneath but between the M and G it looks kind of weird. I like the colour though.
I think the double sided idea with avatars on one side is good, especially if your avatar features your username ;D

Why not try a "photo-mosaic" version... But I guess it´s kind of hard on a businesscard. More like a poster thing ???

Regarding your logo, when I came to the site this morning I thought it'd been hacked by some online dating service. I read it as Ms. G (Ms as in the generic title for a female, whether married or not).
Perhaps something with the Miu character and a big S and G?

I like this idea. I'm not trying to be funny ( ;D), but with all caps it reminds me of what I'm supposed to ask the waitress not to put in my food at the Chinese restaurants.

yeah i liked that quite a bit kngkyle. I get microstock diaries associations from it, but when comparing the two they don't really look so similar. It is nice a calm and clear.
Here was the updated one I did. Perhaps we should have a vote :)

ok, I have been fiddling a little with the card and realize the more avatars the better. If I go with the mosaic idea 100 avatars wouldn't be too many. So far we have 42.

Make sure you guys send Leaf the artwork in a larger format...otherwise they're all going to have to be pea sized on the card. If that's what he was planning on doing, then it should be fine. When you go from 72 dpi to 300 dpi for print, stuff shrinks.

well they are all going to be pea sized.. or pin head sized :) - so just the avatar beside your post is more than ample.

I must be having problems with this site. The link opens up in a window that says there's no file there. I'm also seeing a LOT of boxes with red x's in this forum. Just downloaded the new update to Norton 360 the other day. Wonder if that's the problem. It has sure been making my system s-l-o-w!
