Images from 6MP cameras are still presented as 1600x1200 (less than 2MP). Size do matter, but I don't think that they've understood that.

Hi epixx -

This is definitely on our fix list. We know that this is confusing both to contributors and buyers. The orginal intent was that the medium file is at least 1600 x 1200. We'll work on making that clearer.  Rest assured we aren't downsampling 6mp images to 1600 x 1200 and throwing away the rest.

Nice to see you here Brian.  I hope SV do well.  I am getting a payout a month but that is due to the low $10 minimum payout level.  Now the site is no longer in beta, I hope the buyers will arrive.  It would be nice to have another rival to keep the big sites on their toes.

Hi Brian good to have you here! And a big welcome :)
You will hear some hard words here but if you are smart you better carefully listen. SV did have some nice ideas but the lack of understanding this market is frustating for us the contributors with long-term experience.
I still believe that SV can be a succesful site but you really have to change a lot. If several contributors here complain that the site is too slow than you better take this serious! Currently the site is overloaded with too many fuzzy stuff it has to be slick!

Hi Brian,

Yes it's good to see you here.

Sort out FTP uploading.

A good site is worthless without images, and yes I know I could send them on DVD by snail mail but that's not something I or many others are prepared to do.  Too risky, I don't trust our own postal service let alone yours.

I second that.
I have no time for burning images to DVD and posting them. How often should it be done, for every batch?
I can set FTP uploads to work overnight and forget it. I am sure there are many like me, and you are missing out on good images.
Currently SV is near the last on my list for uploading, and only if I can be bothered. It should not be like that, and FTP uploading is a must.

Give me FTP and I'll upload my 3000 files.

I've got a couple of batches of photos to send...nothing like 3K though.  I've thought about just burning a CD, putting it in a mailer with a cover letter and having one of the kids run it down the street to drop it in the mailbox.  I'm kinda curious about the review time for images sent this way.
