for the past month I have had only sub sales. At DT there are sub sales and at least as many normal sales. But only sparse sub sales ...  It means uploading to SV is a waist of time.

Snap has been a major disappointment for me. Very slow sales, very few views. Just a  few sales over the last few months. All subs. No other sales. Have no idea why. They've got all my best images that are selling well elsewhere. They have made it onto my do-not-upload list. I may work for peanuts but I don't work for free.

I'm not about to retire or anything but I had two non sub sales last month, a buck or two each to me, plus a few sub sales. On percentage level, it's a massive increase on sales over past months. However it is still meaningless, since it barely covers espressos for even one day.

I'm glad I caught this thread while I only have 85 images uploaded to SV

Thanks

I had sales ticking along, nothing huge but I was happy as it is a new site. I enabled subs 2-3 weeks ago but am now only getting sub sales (18 so far this month) with no normal sales. Hopefully this is just an anomaly as they have been advertising subs heavily and hopefully I see some normal sales again soon.

Hi Clearview -

We've noticed this shift too, and we have definitely focused our advertising heavily on our new subscription packages to kick start those.
I think we'll see a more balanced mix between subscription/standard/product start to develop going forward.

It's a difficult decision Brian.  I'm slowly uploading my better selling photos to SV to test the waters, and so far I'm keeping Subscriptions turned off.  If I am to get sales from SV, I want them to be worth my while.

If steady money is flowing in, then I will probably turn on subs.  What I don't want is what I experienced at Crestock, where I had just a few sub sales over a month and no hope of ever reaching payout.  I'd rather have 0 sales than have a few sales with which I will never reach payout.

Anyhow the site looks a lot better now that you are out of beta.  The upload process still needs FTP, but it is far better than it was several months ago.  Honestly it is much better than iStock's system, and I haven't noticed any of the quirks others were concerned about.

Yes, please push the credit sales too.  You will get a huge contributor following if you emphasize credit sales over subs.
