Title: Sending DVD
Post by: melastmohican on August 25, 2008, 16:51
I just burned two DVD for sending. I put text file with information they require on one of DVDs. No photos with model releases and all pictures got IPTC metadata. I guess it should be enough for them?

Wouldn't it be best if you emailed this question to them?

i hope you have better luck than me.  I sent them 3000 pics on dvds and 1000 showed up on the site.  perhaps it was my fault with error filled dvds or perhaps the have a glitch in their workflow.  Eitherway, hopefully it turns out better for you.

My dvd adventure went well and most of my images turned up on their site. Only thing they emailed about was what I wanted to have as a default price and opt in/out for subs (you may set the default price on their site just to be sure)

Hi melastmohican:

That should be fine.
The only other thing to consider (if you haven't done this already): If you want your images organized into sets (same shoot, same theme or model) then you should organize your images into folders for each set - and make the folder name the set name

I wish I got delivery confirmation when I sent it. It seem I shoot my DVD into void. I will wait 1 more week and ask them if they received it :-)

this gives me a little more incentive to post a DVD, I had sent a support question asking if it was possible to send a DVD of files....  No answer from support so I just gave up.
I later noticed the FAQ states I could send a DVD!

At first I made mistake when exporting from LR2 (it put watermark in files by default). I had to re-send pictures but now I got 1/3 third reviewed after 1 week. Surprisingly they are quite efficient so it going to be much less problems than trying to upload. I do not know how long it would take to index cause I got very few views on pictures which are published.
