Title: Corel Paintshop Pro X4
Post by: LSD72 on October 19, 2011, 11:58
I have been looking for something different than Adobe Products to work on my images. I think I finally found one software that satisfies me on that. I have Paintshop Pro X4 and so far I am liking it. I have been using it for about 2 weeks now. My only problem with it so far is that I have use photoshop for years so I am used to where things are and how they are named. Those little things make it a little difficult to work until you learn. It does not have all the support of plugins that Photoshop has but I have not found those that necessary. The best thing is that X4 is only $99.   ;D

Now I am off to go look up tricks and tips for it.

Check it out for yourself

Photoshop Elements isn't overpriced and there's lots of free plug-ins that I find useful.  It also has a similar layout to Photoshop.  If I wanted to save more money, I would use the gimp.  That's $0, my favourite price for software :).  I tried a trial of Corel in the past and I don't think it's as good as the gimp.

I switched from PSP to PS Elements.  I catalog my files in the same software.  PS really screwed my search hierarchy with the last version I bought.  Thinking of moving back to PSP.

That should really scramble my keywording/tracking system.  LOL

If used PS X2 and X3 found them excellent apart from X3 being a bit unstable so hanging on for a while till upgrade.

I'm an Elements fan. For just photo many people swear that Lightroom is the best? I don't do complicated changes (hey Editorial remember?)  :)

I'm sure I have PSP somewhere and I don't know why not except I like Elements and I'm used to it.

Did have CS3 somewhere, just too much program for what I need to do 98% of the time. But the OP is right, why pay hundreds if you don't need all the features?

They always do a sale on Thanksgiving, to which I thank them imensely. :D

US$40 full version, US$30 upgrade. I may even get the full so I start from a fresh installation. Or doesn't it make any difference?
