Title: FTP for Mac
Post by: Karimala on September 13, 2009, 16:05
I recently switched to a Mac, and was sad to learn that SmartFTP is only a Windows program.  Since I don't really want to install Windows if I don't have to, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a similar program for Mac that will allow multiple uploads strings at the same time.  I'm currently using ClassicFTP, but it's a serious time waster as it only allows uploading to one place at a time.

Does anyone know of an FTP program for Mac that allows multiple uploads?

I use Transmit.  It'll definitely support multiple concurrent uploads in separate windows.  Alternatively, you might try the ftp command from the Terminal.  I use it from my web provider to upload files to all the sites (except one; you know who you are) at once.

Filezilla allows to make either one long queue for multiple destinations (which I always do); or you can do several in parallel if you have really thick uplink (by opening several instances of the program)

and it's free :)

Transmit is the way to go.

Best one available if you ask me.

Thanks!   ;D

I wasn't impressed with Cyberduck...couldn't figure out how to store site information, and the last thing I want to do is enter URLs and passwords for every site every time I upload.  It would only store info for one site.  Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I don't want to spend the time figuring it out.  LOL

Looking at Filezilla and Transmit as we speak, and so far they look very similar to SmartFTP.  Sweet!  Appreciate everyone's recommendations.
