Hi all,

when i try to import folder or sychronise folder of new folders in lightroom, lightroom will behave like checking it forever...I can press the small cross button to stop it.

It seems there are few video files by camera won't be able to recognise by lightroom.

It was okay for video files before, but I don't know why it seems have problem now..the video is playable in quicktime, it is a avi format straight out of camera.

Do you guys have an idea what to do? I would like to know is there a solution?

You could try to import the folder in smaller chunks of files to find the possibly broken file. Don't know if this is the issue here, but I've noticed that some people use just one album. One should make new album for every shoot / set of images. If only one album is used for all the images, the cache/database/meta is drowning even stronger computer in small steps.

If you use it on Mac - try to clean your disk space, it takes ages to import anything when free space is lower than 10-15% of max. Use software like free Onyx to clean caches and fix disk (permissions, etc.). It helps a lot.
In PC - clean temps, caches, delete or copy somewhere old, unused LR backups, then defrag and restart LR

so it could be due to hard disk free space?

I will try to clean up some hard disk space..

My camera will generate some corrupt files, but it seems not the reason, lightroom always detect it... and it seems the video files who had caused the lightroom stuck during importing.
