Anyone using photoshop elements 5.

I am currently using elements 2 (free with 20D) but use DPP for Raw, zoombrowser for browsing and a mixture of programs for keywording.  I am thinking of upgrading so that I can just use one program for: Raw, editing and browsing.

I have considered CS3 but this is just a hobby for me and I dont think I can justify it.

is the raw editor the same as CS3 or is it different?
Can you keyword (or is this only done in bridge which comes with CS_)

well some of the questions i can answer.

i am pretty sure all versions of photoshop can keyword.  just press ctrl+shift+alt+i and it will open a box to type in the words.  With bridge however you can keyword multiple images at the same time.

also, check out the canon photoshop rebate.  It is a couple $100 off if you have purchases a canon camera recently.

or, you could probably find a reasonably priced used cs version of photoshop

I did exactly what you are planning to do and don't regret my decision. I don't know if the raw editor is exactly the same as CS3, but it's easy to use. And it works, which is all that I really care about. As for keywording, I have read that you can. But I haven't been able to do it yet.

I've never  been able to keyword either. Leaf, are you a Mac user? I think that's the difference, although I don't know why.

I upgraded from 4 to 5 based on a couple of featues. I don't remember what they were, except the straighten tool was one. A lot easier to use.
