Title: Program for removing noise
Post by: RH on September 14, 2008, 11:18
Hi there,

do you use Noise Ninja, NeatImage, Noiseware or PS-PlugIn for removing Noise.
Normally i havenīt much problems with Noise, because I use a Nikon D2Xs with 100ISO, but i have some scanned slides, which needs some processing.

Have a nice day

Neather one of those programs produce sastisfary results.
In order to have your files noise free you need to process them in a good editing software (photoshop).... producing multiple layers and apply noise reduction on each layer seperately to have an acceptable result, deleting part that are overdone etc... .
Even in photoshop applying noise reduction on a single layer will degrade your picture.... softness.. blurry...etc...
That's why you should use separate layers, this way you can adjust noise reduction on specific parts of the picture, and have full control on how the end result will be.
It's more complicated than it sounds.. believe me....:-)

I always shoot on ISO 100, and never remove any noise. :)

When I have to remove some of it, because of hi-ISO, I use neat image.

Before going to microstock I never worried about noise. Now I run all my photos thru Noise Ninja before submitting...
