Title: Thumbsplus
Post by: dbvirago on October 20, 2006, 15:48
Does anyone use this software. I was using PixVue for keywording (I thought keywording in elements too clunky). It worked good, but about 20% of my uploads the keywords would disappear. I had read about Thumbsplus in a book and tried the demo. It's good for organizing, keywording, etc. and has become part of my workflow.

The problem is our old friend Istock., Just got around to my weekly 20 and find that for whatever reason Istock doesn't pick up any data from Thumbsplus. No title, no description, and no keywords. All other sites are no problem.

I guess since I'm uploading one at a time anyway, cut and paste is just another aggravation, but I don't understand why the difference.

I use Nikon View to input keyword, it seems working pretty well.

I thought that iStock doesn't pick up EXIF at all (no matter what software you are using).  Except for ImageManager of course...

It almost never grabs description, but it used to take keywords and title when I used Pixvue.

It has never missed one when I used Adobe Bridge to add keywords to the EXIF data.

hi,

I use Pixvue (Annotate) and have no problems with the keywords at Istock, the discription doesn't come through but the keywords do. Perhaps its the version, i use 2.0.1.0 (see prop. of exe)

I probably only have an issue with about 5-10% with pixvue.  iStock always works but I use the image manager.

Pixvue works 99% of the time with istock, except the description never comes through (as stated above).

I use to use PixVue, but I found that it is slow when you are pulling up a lot of thumbnails.  The got very old quick with all of my images on backup drives.  I found that Microsoft put out a new tool that is very simple but it has been working great so far.  Its a simple right click and enter the info if you are on Windows.

You can try that.  Its called  Photo Info.
