Not asking about keyword tools. I use the MSG one and SS. But how do you enter and store the keywords. I've used Lightroom for many years, but I don't have a good system for retrieving and entering repetitive data. I keep going back to the tools and searching once again for the same stuff. My LR keyword library is a mess after 10 years. I've used a spreadsheet in the past, but with tens of thousands of images, not sure that is practical.

How does everyone here get it done?

I use Xpiks to both enter keywords and upload files.

Looks interesting. I use Stocksubmitter for uploading, but for keywording, it takes out the copy and paste step. Thanks

Yes, the tool combined with presets is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.

Too bad it doesn't do raw files, but I'll work around that. Usually, I keyword before processing, but can just as easily do it the other way around.

The Web version of StockSubmitter (Microstocker Plus) imports CSV files.  Thus, I keyword using ImStocker, store them in Lightroom, then have LR create a CSV. I upload to MicroStocker Pro, and use the CSV to add all title / description / keyword info.

Takes all of 5 seconds to export the CSV and import into MSP.

I haven't tried the online version yet. What are the advantages vs the standalone?

I use iMatch by Photools.com. I needed a Digital Asset management system long before Lightroom was on the scene and this does a very good job for my 160,000 current images. It has a bit of a steep learning curve but is incredibly capable of indexing, searching, categorizing, and keywording. The thesaurus can be set up for pulling out a common keyword and then also bringing your added synonyms. For example, if I add Dayton as a keyword, I have the thesaurus set to also bring out: city, Ohio, USA, United States. I always select all images from a given shoot and add the common and "generic" keywords and description. Then I come back to smaller groups and individual files to add specific keywords and description sentence for that image. This will enter the detail into the database and another click will set in motion the write-back to put all the IPTC fields into the actual image files (JPG) and/or side-car files (raw). iMatch is worth a review for your use.

Yeah, I'm in touch with the developer on another forum. I looked at it some time back and used up my trial period. Even if I stick with Xpiks and Lightroom, I probaby need an external DAM, such as iMatch. I tried Photo Mechanic and it's too clunky. The latest update didn't fix that.

It really goes well with my workflow, I never keyword raws in Lightroom, for me they are just a middle step to getting to final jpegs and eventually raws all get deleted once I've pulled all I wanted and I'm happy with jpegs. So with stock ready jpegs I go into Xpiks, work on metadata and save.

Yeah, there was no particular reason for doing it in the order I did, and actually, this makes more sense. In theory, Once I'm ready to process, I should have weeded out anything not worthy. But sometimes, once I get into the processing, I decide an image isn't worth the effort, so no point adding keywords and captions

I keep all my captions & keywords in an excel sheet.  my images are renamed already to YYMMDD-xxx  so it's easy to track years later.  I can also easily cut & paste for similar shots (eg, cathedrals, mountains, etc) while still adding specific tags.

I do the metadata in LR, but dont use their catalog, since after adding meta the images go to different folders - ready to upload, need resize, and a number of different post=processing.  later I'll send time doing all the images needed slight rotation, cropping etc, which is much faster than trying to do different edits

I used spreadsheets early days and was going back to one for the types of images I use a lot, but it's still time-consuming to find, copy and paste. That's why I was hoping for something like Xpiks. I copied and pasted each of those saved set into a preset. Now, if I am keywording an image where I don't have a set, I do a normal search from within the program and it puts the keywords into the image. If I am working on, say, mountains, I click on a list and click on Mountains and all of those keywords pop in. Best of both worlds IMO

Try F-Stop on Apknite. It has many ways of sorting your photos.
On my Mac, I also use Xpiks.
