Title: What software do you use to view images at 100%?
Post by: waitingonthestuff on January 15, 2024, 09:12
I find that, whatever I use, it will start at, say 32% and I have to zoom in.

What is your "go to" software for this and is there anything that can default at 100% to view?

Thanks

I use most of the time Adobe Photoshop in combination with (spot) healing brush tool, remove tool, clone stamp, etc.
Also 4k widescreen makes it easier to handle modern 16:9 or 21:9 aspect ratios.

I use photoshop.  GraphicConverter 11 will work too.  It's my favorite photo browser.

If you double-click on the magnifying glass icon in the Photoshop toolbar, you have 100%.

if i'm editing i'll use PS but if viewing from a folder i use the older version of windows photo viewer which 1 click to 100% & back - also makes it much easier to compare similars

it also makes it easier to decide how much to downsize & which to use ai giga, etc (all of  which i do in batches)

Just viewing? Irfanview letter F = full size. F again, makes it fit to screen.

Editing? Photoshop = Pretty simple:

Control+ALT+0 is 100%
Control+0 is fit to screen

I am almost certain that all software will default to show you the full image as the default, they are not smart enough to know where you want to zoom to at opening.

Photo Mechanic

Very fast viewing of raw files! I always use it for initial selection of files, and from here I send the selection to Lightroom.
Also cool option of extracting (full size) jpeg previews from the raw files (if you need to send jpegs to someone very fast)
