On a site, I am beginning to like more and more (Petapixel (http://www.petapixel.com/2011/07/26/microsoft-finally-adds-raw-support-to-windows-explorer/)) I just read that Windows has added support for RAW files. ...
It's about time!

Cool, thanks.

Wow! Thanx Leaf. Finally I have thumbnails in my Lightroom folders without opening the program to see what they are.

Great! Thanks Leaf!

Leaf, I have Windows 7-64 bit. I bought this software a few months ago and it works terrific....

Not only does it have the codec built in, but it's a great way to quickly cull images in that you can zoom it at 100% with just the click of a mouse. You can also enter keywords through the software into the EXIF (I think the shortcut is 'Ctrl-W')
edited to add - I just noticed they mention iStock inspectors use the software...that wasn't there when I bought it a few months back. Interesting.
Gannet77 - the codec for Windows XP has been out for at least 6 years. Have a look here => http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8802 (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8802)

Wow I wonder how well it works...gonna download it now, but I noticed it doesn't support Nikon D7000.

So you can't open up files that are on another hard drive?? I have all my photos on my second hard drive and I don't see where you can go to open these. Anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks for trying, but that version doesn't support Olympus raw format... which is what I have.
