Don't buy PhotoStore from ktools
- They make promises but can't comply
- They are super unfriendly
- They have the worst customer service
- Their tool doesn't work properly
- They are not willing to refund after all
- Their code is the worst
-
I guess I should start working on my time machine then so I can undo the last four years... or maybe I'll just continue on. ;)
-
Sorry. I probably should give a non-sarcastic response...
It's unfortunate that you had a poor experience with the software. None of these store solutions are perfect. They all require some extra work out of the box. I still think it is worth the time to try though. Maybe, it will work for you and maybe it won't.

Right on !

What do you expect from site which sells Bux and other scam Ponzi Scheme scripts...
-
I've had no problem with my Ktools site. When I needed assistance they were responsive enough. That was a couple of years ago, last version of Ktools. Maybe they've changed since then.

Ditto. No big problems, seven years in. It's not all things to all people and you may have to do a bit of work to change it. Like everything.

This is total nonsense. Ktools.net sells Ktools products.

Are you sure these complaints are not about iStock? Sounds like they have a similar model ;D

Yes
some of they infamous "Ponzi products" are deserted/abandoned from they site.
Maybe they finally find way to make legal money...

I'm a pretty happy KTools user. There are only a couple solutions and none of them are the flawless. I have one site running with Ktools now and get a few sales a month.
-
I wasn't happy with my experience. $600 down the drain. The attitude seems to be - you're getting thousands of dollars worth of code for a few hundred dollars so BE GRATEFUL.
-
I had a very negative experience with ktools also.
-
I do think Ktools is a fine product but if you don't like it you should check out Symbiostock, which is freeware btw.

Hey everyone, just my 2 cents on this: I'm a new PhotoStore customer and their CMS is really good compared to what other CMSs offer. In addition, their customer support is really good right now and I've never been left with unsolved issues ever since buying their product 2 months ago. We had more than one conversation per week and I've never been disappointed.
I wonder why others mentioned they were unhappy. Ktools staff were always friendly and did what they could do to help solve problems. It's true, they don't do custom work on the templates, but I've looked at the code since I had to change things myself and it's well programmed and clean. Even as a HTML/CSS noobie you can find your way through. And there are always pro's that one can hire.
If anyone has a better option for self-hosted stock photography, let me know, since I don't know any other with that amount of functionality out of the box.

For proper working products you shouldnt have to talk to customer support more than once a week.

much more important is whether there are competent support staff there when you do call! new software can offer challenges even for the experienced - having a knowledgable assistant ready is invaluable.
