Serge Ramelli's images are heavily over processed and his image processing workflow introduces tons of artifacts.

I agree.
Instead of ETTR, he tends to underexpose and push his shadows to 100%. This technique is adding tons of noise. He is regularly over-sharpening.
Moreover, recently he began publishing sloppy jobs, with obvious cloning errors, crooked horizons, etc. Probably because his survival on the web depends on regularly feeding his followers with "stuff", he is rushing to maintain his online presence, even when he has nothing meaningful to add.

I agree.
Serge is a really nice guy and he has an excellent screen presence, which is very important for video.
He is also a good professional photographer.
But I always found that he tends to over process a lot.
When I do tutorials, I also process a bit beyond my own taste, otherwise people don't really notice the differences made which each tool

I agree, it is a problem with a lot of successful YouTubers.
You have to constantly feed the beast with new videos, so at some stage they run out of good idea and they have to publish just something.
Also I can easily tell that some of his most recent videos are done as quickly as possible and he often loose the plot a bit during a tutorial.
Each of my video takes me over three days of work: I have to study the topic, pre plan, collect all the images, write a story board. Big work!

Because dollar wise, I doubt a few thousands YouTube views can justify the efforts you put in teaching others how to better compete with yourself.

I followed Serge Ramelli about 2 years ago and watched some of his older videos but in 2018 I gave up. I think he lost the plot. His editing his getting worse. There is no point going on with YouTube when you have covered everything. And this nonsense of reducing the highlight 100% and opening up the shadows to 100%. I am certainly not a genius in editing. I wish I were. But those fake colors I don't like. There are much better photographers on SS. Maybe the really great ones don't need to be on YouTube and have no time for that either. They are busy being professionals. That's just my opinion.

I have reached monetisation about a month ago, but YouTube is late in analysing new accounts and might take a good while (I guess another month).
YouTube is not a short term project and I do not plan substantial gains in the first 3 years, but after a certain point it is supposed to snowball.
For the moment things are going much faster than my initial targets.
But anyway, as I said above, I would like to end up in Hollywood! :-)
