i work with lightroom, dpp and photoshop and always used MS picture manager to quickly view photos at 100% because  of its simple UI however, since upgrading to w10, picture manager is no longer reading the exif orientation tag correctly, basically ignoring it.

i am looking for a small, simple program with easy UI to quickly do the same as before, LR, DPP are too big and bulky for that simple task, looking at Faststone image viewer, ACDsee, irfanview, etc. which program is a good alternative and not too expensive. ive used faststone and acdsee before, and liked them, just wondering if there is something better

I use and love irfanview, though admittedly it isn't the easiest / friendliest UI (by far). Been using it for over 10 years now, and it hasn't changed much. It's still fast, lightweight, but with a semi unfriendly UI. But once you learn it, it won't change.

Seems to work fine under Win 10 (I'm using the 64-bit version, which is much faster with large files than the 32-bit version was). However, supposedly some of the plug-ins don't work with the 64-bit version (not a concern for me).

I use QuickLook on Mac.
Nothing is more simple: you select your files, press the spacebar and it is done.
It works with most of the files: image files, graphic files, sound files, videos, text, etc

On Windows you can get something similar with Seer

I've been using IrfanView for about 17 years already, I think. First installed on a laptop with Windows 98, 2.1 GB HDD, 32 MB RAM and a 233 Mhz Pentium CPU. Fantastic program IMHO, especially considering the cost. A true legend. Thank you Irfan for all these years!
