Amazing what he has accomplished in the last years when he ramped up production. He has definitely gone the volume route and it is working well for him and not in a cheap country like Spain. So kudos for working in this tough environment.
Thank you for this and all the interviews you make. It is always interesting to read how producers approach this business.

it has to be volume because it is all a dime a dozen, nothing original in their port and blatantly 'stocky' photos

Not to be ugly but their photos are very simple and very, very average. I would rate what I looked
at their online site and give them a 3 on a 10 scale. Maybe that is the way to go....Clearly what I am doing is not working at this present time. I do hope they are making lots of sales.

There are definetly many different ways to run a sustainable stock photo and video business. There are various factors involved.
In the various years that we have been interviewing sustainable producers, we realize that there is no one formula. So whether Kraken's photos are good or bad on some defined scale from 1 to 10 is actually not relevant. What matters is that they set up a business which works and he shares his history in the interview. This information can be useful for some people, but doesn't have to be for everybody.
