Thanks for posting this notification. I have a question: I have a limited 'Stock Performer' subscription as part of my membership of Stocksy. Is my ranking data measured against other Stocksy contributors - or whole of the market? Thanks.

It says against those who opt in, so it seems to be other users who agree. This is one of the reasons I don't use SP, I don't want to pay out a huge fee and then also have my data farmed.

There are much better and easier to use options out there.

The ranking is based on users who opt in. And it is also only displayed to users who opt in.

The rankings in the main overview are for the market as a whole . For individual agencies look at the rankings which appear under the agency tabs in the daily, monthly and yearly tabs.

If you click on the "Stocksy" tab in the daily, monthly or yearly view, then it will only be for stocksy, and of course as said above, only against those who opted in.

The only graphs I see for this are on the overview page, and switching the pulldown from "All" to "Stocksy" does nothing for me.  Maybe there's a bug?

To interpret this rating it would be useful to know how many (just a rough number) users are taken into account. 10, 100, 1000? It's not very meaningful stats if it is calculated from 10 or 20 contributors.

That's a good question and we updated our blog post to answer that. Here is the extract of that update:

===
How large is the sample?

At the time of writing this, the rankings are based on over 25 million uploads and over 65 million sales on 11 agencies. So its a pretty large sample. Generally we dont publish user counts but hopefully this info helps you get a feel for the significance of the ranking. As our user base grows, as well as the agencies supported, so will the size of the sample.

Not really, not without a rough user count. If you want users to give up all their info to you to build your product (as well as paying a fee) shouldn't you at least be willing to provide this basic anonymous information?

I love stockperformer, I really think it is useful, the rankings are just an add on, if I had any concerns, I simply wouldnt opt in.
