I'm not registered with Stockfresh. Is it worth uploading there?

I do not understand why close your account. They do NOT cheat you. You uploaded ALREADY. Work is done. Does not make sense to me. And now with a new design, maybe new features stockfresh might have success. Then you upload all images again?

Max, I focus on agencies that bring me money, not wasting my time. SF is WOT. They opened a very long time ago, promising more clients and better $ in future but this future is not coming... I don't think anything will change for them in next years just because they changes layout. In the fact it's very popular layout, iS has it, Alamy, SS and others too (try find diferences - game in that trend)... Nothing new ergo.

Why did I close account here? I closed dozens accounts on micros for personal/business reasons and as said above, I focus on real earners now. And not necessarily want work for pennies.

More in the fact. But it doesn't matter here. I'm glad I've made that decision, it was worth to risk :)

End of OT from me :)

Why stockfresh is actually not so successful? I read here in the forum a long time ago. Thought that might be more successful. Is not that an alleged by photographer page or something?

Max, some time ago some smart person here said that subs. option is killing this market. SF doesn't offer subs. so maybe that's why they don't success? Look at the column on right side to see how far they are on the earners list...

Some old and interesting discussion here: http://www.microstockgroup.com/new-sites-general/if-i-were-a-low-earner-site/msg169124/#msg169124

I'd heard that there was no plan for an aggressive push on the site for some reason. The redesign may signal a change.

The guy who started Stockfresh is one of the founders of StockXpert (and the free site that was stock.xhchg and is now freeimages.com and owned by Getty). StockXpert started a little later than iStock and Shutterstock, but grew pretty well and quickly. It was acquired by Jupiter and then swallowed up by Getty when they bought Jupiter.

The story was that when Stockfresh got to a million images they'd start investing in marketing. They reached that years ago and then didn't do any marketing that I'm aware of. Then there was talk of being patient. My portfolio is there but I don't upload any more.

My best guess is that what was enough to get StockXpert off the ground in 2005 wasn't enough to get Stockfresh into the running in 2010 - lots had changed. No one wants to make a big investment, apparently, so the site languishes.

The new design is nice, but that's not the problem with sales at Stockfresh, so I don't expect it will have any effect at all.

I still think Peter is making a decent living. He is probably padding his bank account fairly well even with the smattering of downloads. Why? Sub packages are very profitable and that's all I get from them. He has no need to market if he is happy with his personal return on his privately held company.

Oh, but they didn't...?  ??? At least when I was with them...

[It's Peter from Stockfresh, looks like I logged in with my old account by accident, sorry :)]

Cidepix: Thanks! The new, fluid (responsive) design is to accommodate the growing number of mobile users. :)

Ariene: Actually we've always had subscriptions, but there used to be a size limit which was removed about 2-3 months ago.

Mantis: Credit based downloads still vastly outnumber subscription downloads, so what you're claiming to experience is not exactly typical.

It is for me. And am I right about my assessment regarding your position on site performance being based on what you are comfortable with as a personal income? No growth in years so it is easy to make this assumption.

Here are my earnings so far this month.

It's a great redesign and long overdue. But I have to echo the sentiment of others, that it's going to take a lot more than a nice visual upgrade to move the needle on SF. Unless there is as much (or more) action going on behind the scenes as there is on the frontend of the website, the overall outlook for SF hasn't really improved.

Look at last Mantis's post with earnings and try to understand my thinking. Why borther with agency that doesn't work? Something that does not make sense to you doesn't mean it's wrong way... You don't understand something but I may have my personal reasons, like: "I don't like selling my files for pennies, especially when it is done occasionally once a month".
Yes, they don't cheat me but many low earn agencies are fair... is it enough reason to upload work to agency that doesn't work? Why don't everybody upload to ImageVortex or FeaturePics or others like that? I were with them like with dozens agencies and decided it's not good idea, so took my toys and go to another places... One basket with eggs is bad just like too many baskets as well...
If I remeber correctly I earned with SFR around $9 in 2-3 years and I really don't understand the reason to stay...

About new design, please, don't be naive. It's not the general point of marketing. And I don't want to offend anybody here!

And at the end, I really liked SF place at the begining. If they did anything to improve marketing to get clients and add option to set up own pricing, it would be just (almost) perfect place...

I understand your answer fully and agree. I just mean. The work is already done. Although I can understand it at featurepics etc good. But that is why I am there never registered.

Max, I understand your confusion :) All I can say now is - I don't want to wait over 5 (five!) years to reach $50 :) Not interested and that's it :)

I don't know if this happened after the redesign, but have the previews always been blurry at Stockfresh? The zoom looks sharp but the standard view looks pretty bad because of the blur.
