Title: Stopfresh
Post by: noodle on April 19, 2013, 21:23
My application has been there since February, sent 2 e-mails inquiring whats going on, and no response

This site is a joke run by jokers - not very professional IMO compared to other sites in replying to contributor inquiries

I think they are running on one cylinder, on a shoestring budget, with a shoestring staff, and shoestring revenue.  Very unfortunately, they haven't grown for me personally one iota with almost 3000 images. I make about $6 to $10 a month avg, some months less than $6. I leave my port there, though, in the event we have a "fresh", positive apocalypse of some kind. At this point I don't see that pulling my port will do anything but hurt me for that degree of HOPE. :-*

This prompted me to have a look at how I'm doing this month - $0.85!!! on 4000 images. Nuff said...

I've had two payouts.  And it took less than three years to get there.  Almost three years and over 10,000 photos.  That's what, three hundredths of a penny per photo per month?

I was thinking of applying when they entered middle tier last month, but after reading this, not any longer.

Can I have your username so I can look into what's going on?

I too got a rejection note for my application.  It was pending and I sent them reminder three days back. Rejection not arrived after that.
Stockfresh thanks to you for showing us the new quality standards.

They asked me the links to my ports. I sent them links to 6 portfolios which include super selective Fotolia as well.  Yes included my best 5 images as well. All 5 sell well on various sites.  I do not understand what bothers this agency. Slow and full of attitude.

I don't usually reply to nonsense like this, but this time I'm calling on your bluff.
You have 0 sales on Depositphotos and Dreamstime and you have 1 sale on Fotolia.
I'm not going to link these galleries, do it yourself if you dare.
Go ahead, show everyone what you have, let them decide who has an attitude. :)

Thanks Peter for responding.

He called your bluff, and you folded ;-)

So it seems Peter has a point and the rejection was just.

I Like the site. I have less than 1000 pictures there and have made $90 so far.  Its easy to upload to and I'm hopeful sales will rise and Stockfresh will blossom into a good earner.   :)

It is certainly your agency's right to accept or reject the applications. As it goes for you, it also stands for the people to express their views. If this equation hurts you, you are at wrong place.  Even if you discount what I feel, read what others have to say.

There are people on this forum with legitimate concerns and people who love to distort the facts and in some cases flat out lie. The latter of course are usually completely anonymous because otherwise they would have to back up their claims and that's not convenient at all, is it?

I take legitimate concerns seriously but if you make a false claim you'll be called out for it. I've been running similar services for almost a decade now, trust me, you're not the first person to come up with the cunning strategy of complaining about the rejection of so called "best sellers" that have 0-1 downloads at best on top tier sites. Do you honestly think we are that blind and stupid? We have heard ALL the stories before.

Did it ever occur to you that it's you who is at the wrong place? :)

I think they have the right idea keeping the number of contributors to a manageable level for their resources for reviewing and so on. They are still slowly increasing sales for me so I am happy with the way they are running the site. Thanks Peter, keep it up!

I take this moment to apologize to Peter and others. I think I was too anxious as new-comer.  At this point, I can hope that SF will take a little lenient consideration to those who wish to build the portfolio.

Lets see what happens next month when I am going to submit the next batch.  I am learning it a bit and hope that I will rise one day to standards of SF, IS and SS.  Thanks for being patient with me.  Sincere apologies once again.

Haven't been posting much lately.  (Once in a while I come in and look around, but the site seems to be 90% Symbiostock these days and I won't pay much attention to that until it starts paying off for people.)

But I have to chime in with my take on Stockfresh.

I see it as the most promising of the up-and-coming sites.

I get at least one payout every month... as of today, I've earned about $60 this month there.

Peter is a good guy, who ran an excellent site before that we all loved, and I believe he can grow Stockfresh into being another real player.

It boils down to this... if you sell well at the big sites, you WILL make money at Stockfresh.  If you can't sell on the other sites, don't complain about Stockfresh... you have bigger problems to worry about.

I have continued to upload to SF even though sales have been slow. I have about 1400 online now. The site is well built, uploads are easy, reviews are fair, so I think there is hope for improved sales.
